本单元的主题是介绍人物外貌或性格特征，本节课是本单元的第四课时，属于听说课。教材通过陈杰和John在语文课前讨论语文老师的情景，呈现句型“What’s she like She’s …”的语义和语用情景。
1．能够正确理解Let’s talk的对话，并能用正确的语音语调朗读；
2．能够借助图片听懂简短对话，抓住关键信息，提高听的能力；
3．能够运用核心句型“What’s she/he like ”“She’s/He’s …”“Is he/she … ”“Yes, he/she is.”“No, he/she isn’t.”，询问老师的性格特征并能描述自己的老师或朋友；
4．能在语境中理解Ms、will、sometimes的意思，并能正确发音；
5．通过课堂活动，提高自主学习意识和与他人进行沟通的能力，并感受合作学习的乐趣。

快闪关于描述外貌和性格特征的单词，学生认读。活跃课堂气氛的同时，调动学生头脑中已有的知识，为接下来的学习做铺垫。

Step 2 Presentation
1．Let’s try
教师创设学校中有一位姓王的新老师的情景，让学生先思考，新老师是什么样子的。发散学生的思维，为本文讨论的话题做铺垫。
T: Look! Who are they
Ss: They are John and Chen Jie.
T: Yes! They are talking about a new teacher. Look! Ms Wang is a new teacher here.
Let’s listen and tick. What is she like
学生听录音，完成练习。教师带领学生完成Let’s try部分的练习并核对答案，出示Let’s try音频原文，让学生在文中核对答案。教师提示Ms 用于女子的姓氏或姓名前，不指明婚否。

学生看视频，回答问题。
3．Let’s check
呈现教材对话，引导学生理解will be和sometimes的含义。

学生听音跟读，教师指导学生的语音语调，尤其是连读和升降调的处理。
2．Role play
教师引导学生进行角色扮演活动，巩固整篇课文。
3．Ask and answer
教师创设学生讨论自己的朋友的场景，让同桌之间互相介绍自己的朋友，巩固句型。教师提供相应单词，学生自由表达。

教师指导学生读一读关于Amy家庭成员特征的对话，通过Amy的家庭，教师引导学生介绍自己的家庭，创编对话。

教师引导学生小组进行互相介绍，巩固所学句型。
