本单元学习的主题是介绍人物外貌或性格特征。本节听说课是本单元的第一课时,主要话题为谈论教师的外貌与性格特征,此话题符合学生实际的校园生活。
教师应结合任教班级的实际情况,引导学生在谈论新教师的过程中,循序渐进地学习并运用目标语言,达到预定的教学目标并逐渐把所学的语言知识内化为自己的能力,从中培养学生尊重与热爱老师的思想感情。
1.能够完成 Let’s try 板块听对话选图片的活动,掌握获取关键信息的技巧;
2.能够理解 Let’s talk 对话大意,按照正确的意群及语音、语调朗读对话并进行角色扮演;
3.能够在情景中运用句型“Is he young/funny ”“Yes, he is. / No, he isn't.”来询问某人的性格和外貌特征并回答;
4.能够在语境中理解、认读与使用句子“Do you know Mr Young ”;
5.能够在语境中理解young、old、funny、kind、know、our的意思并正确发音。

Step 1 Warm-up & Lead-in

导入本节课将要学习的话题内容,播放并引导学生跟唱“Who’s your teacher ”。
2.Free talk

根据实际授课班级的情况,引导学生用句式“Mr/Miss … is my … teacher.”“He’s/She’s tall/short/strong/thin/ ...”简单描述自己的老师,为后面的新课做铺垫。
3.Lead-in
展示主情景图。创设新同学来到学校、吴斌斌给他介绍老师的场景。

T: Who’s the boy He is Oliver. Oliver is new here. Wu Binbin is telling him about the teachers.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Let’s try
在讨论教师特征的情景之下,展开Let’s try的听力活动。首先根据图片,猜测吴斌斌和Oliver的老师们的身份。再引出听力活动的问题:“Who’s Mr Li ”,学生通过听录音选出哪一位是Mr Li。听后核对答案时,教师要注意培养学生寻找关键信息的能力。
(1)Let’s guess
出示Let’s try中的三位老师的图片,学生观察图片猜一猜他们的身份,引导学生运用句型“He is …”,为接下来Let’s talk的对话学习做铺垫。

(2)Listen and tick
教师播放录音,学生选出哪一幅图片中的人物是Mr Li。教师再次播放录音,对照听力原文和图片进行讲解,并标注听力中的关键信息。师生一起根据听力原文,对Mr Li进行描述,为 Let’s talk 环节做铺垫。

2.Let’s talk
(1)Watch and answer
在了解完Mr Li之后,吴斌斌又向Oliver介绍了一名老师Mr Young。教师在对话中帮助学生理解新词know和句子“Do you know Mr Young ”,答句“No, I don’t.”,并与学生操练两个句子。然后师生一起观看视频了解Mr Young是怎样的人。

Step 3 Practice

听录音逐句跟读,注意语音语调的模仿。培养学生的语感。
2.Read in role
同桌之间分角色朗读课文,并在班级内进行展示,教师及时奖励表现好的和有进步的学生,帮助学生树立学习英语的信心。
3.Role play
指导学生戴上人物头饰进行课文演绎,使其沉浸在真实的语用情景中。
4.Group work
处理完教材中的对话后,过渡到现实生活中,让学生讨论自己的教师有什么样的特点。师生一起读一读描述人物特点的形容词。学生根据实际情况,谈论自己的老师。教师先示范组内如何创编对话,再进行小组活动。教师注意引导学生小组合作完成对话,帮助学生循序渐进地学习并运用目标语言,为下面的写作环节做铺垫。
Step 4 Consolidation
Let’s write
在讨论教师特征的情景下,经过了上几个环节的对话学习与实际的语言应用后,学生已经积累了一定的语料,是输出语言的好时机。此环节创设了给新朋友Alice写信的情景,介绍自己最喜欢的老师,培养学生语言运用能力。在原有课文的基础上,对语言结构进行重构。

教师带领学生一起读一读范文。
T: Can you write a letter to her about your favourite teacher
教师指导学生写作时要注意遵循一定的顺序进行描写,再给出语言支架和词汇,引导学生完成写作。学生写完后在组内进行讨论展示,最后班内展示。小组活动中学生在交流信息的同时,还能互相学习。
