First and foremost,the analysis of teaching material.This lesson is chosen from Oxford English Eight B unit 6. This unit focuses on the topic of "pets" to start the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The topic runs through the whole unit. In the writing section, students are required to write a short argumentative essay based on the key words and the reference model essay.

Secondly,let's analyze the students.Our students are in Grade Eight.
Most of the students' English writing ability is weak in my school , and they are afraid of writing. They fail to skillfully transfer words, phrases and sentence patterns from model essays to writing, and their ability to use language knowledge needs to be improved.Students have been exposed to this topic in the reading and listening sections of this unit and have gained an understanding of the structure and textual features of an argumentative essay.
