· He was a French writer best known for his
adventure stories.
· Often called the “Father of Science Fiction”,
Verne described in his stories technology and
inventions years before they became realities.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
(1870) and Around the World in Eighty Days
(1873).
