二、阅读理解。
A scientist did a scientific test on a shark(鲨鱼). He placed a shark in a tank(箱) with some small fish and began to watch what the shark did.
At first, the shark ate every small fish. Then the scientist put the clear fiberglass(玻璃纤维)to make two parts in the tank. He placed the shark in one part and some small fish in the other.
The shark quickly went to eat the fish, but it hit (碰撞) the fiberglass. It kept on doing this and didn't stop trying.
However, the small fish in the other part were safe. After about an hour, the shark finally felt tired and stopped trying.
The scientist did this scientific test a few times in the next few weeks. Each time, the shark tried less time. Finally, it stopped trying. The scientist then took away the fiberglass. The shark , however , didn't try any more. It believed that there was a barrier( 障碍物)between it and the small fish.
Many of us, after meeting some difficulties , may stop trying. Like the shark, we believe that we will never be successful because we build a barrier in our heads, even when there is no“ real" barrier on our way to success. So we can't make our dreams come true. Last year we went to Beijing.We got there by train. It took us 5 hours to get there. The train was clean and fast. And the weather was sunny. It was just right for taking a trip.
