Step 1 Leading-in 1.Introduce the new words.Show some pictures and things to get the students to say out the new words. Organize the students to read the new words together. 2.Look and say: Ss look at the pictures and talk about it by comparing two pictures to present the comparative degree. Step 2 Listening practice. 1. Look at the pictures and talk about them. Use the words in the box to help you. (

) 2.Guide the students to listen and check answers.(Activity 1). 3. Call back the answer from the whole class and check the answer. Step 3 Listen and read. Ask the students to listen the conversation and answer the questions. （1）Where is Shenzhen It’s on the coast near Hong Kong. （2）Which city is newer, Shenzhen or Hong Kong Shenzhen. （3）What’s the population of Shenzhen It’s over ten million. 2.Play the tape again and ask students to tell T or F.
