(23-24九年级上·江苏泰州·期末)Time to let go!
When I asked my mum and dad if I could go to Kavos with some of my friends for a week, the last thing I thought they would say was “yes”. “There is nothing to discuss,” my dad barked, “Of course you can’t. My girl, you are too young to travel without the presence (在场) of an adult. It’s completely out of question.” My mum just went on and on about all of the possible dangers. So I tried to change their minds. I told them,“If you were worried about the possibility of me falling off a wall and dying in Kavos, then why weren’t you also worried about the possibility of the same thing happening to me here in London ”.
Finally, they agreed—unwillingly. My mum took me to the airport. I had to fly because my friends had flown out the day before. I arrived at the hotel and met my friends at 6 a. m., after a long night of flying.
After having left my luggage in my room, I explored the attractions with my friends. Everyone spoke English and everywhere looked like a cheap American film set. It was just what we all needed after a long year of busy study.
I promised my parents I wouldn’t go out every night. But once you’re there, it just can’t be helped. Every one of us wanted to make the most of our week of freedom. To be honest, I think we did get a bit too crazy.
I still wonder if my parents were happy with their decision. But I did have a wonderful holiday. I think the experience should make my parents realize that it is time for them to let go. I got home safely at last. So did my friends. Now I’m talking with my mum about a similar journey next year. She is speechless for a moment, then she cries, “My alarm bells (警钟) have already started ringing.”

A.The writer didn’t keep her promise while travelling.
B.The writer didn’t go outside when she was in Kavos.
C.Something went wrong when the writer was in Kavos.
D.The writer and her classmates didn’t enjoy freedom in London.
10.We can learn from the underlined sentence in the last paragraph that the writer’s mom ________.

(23-24九年级上·浙江杭州·期末)A few close friends walking through the city streets has become popular among young people in China. It is called Citywalk. People would like to have a journey to walk around the city and explore (探索) its beauty.
Citywalk first appeared in London, England to make tourists travel like locals. A group of people followed a guide, enjoyed the city’s streets, saw buildings up close, and got a deep understanding of the history and culture. At that time, Citywalk emphasized (强调) the importance of heartfelt feeling and a new understanding.
But in China, Citywalk emphasizes following the heart and moving at a slower speed. People do not need to have a good plan before they start walking. Unlike walking in the park or in their neighborhood, Citywalk includes discovering old buildings, exploring special shops, having a cup of coffee, trying local food and so on. People take photos, make videos and share their stories online. They tell others where they go and what they find.
In this fast-paced world, young people are always working hard and they have little time for local exploration. Citywalk helps them have a warmer, more relaxing and slower-paced lifestyle. I am Hillary. I like travelling. Usually, I travel with my close friends. Also, I sometimes travel with my teachers and classmates on school trips. Last summer, I went to the world’s first national park, the Yellowstone Park of the US.
At the start of our journey, the guide told my parents and me some basic information of this place. From 1870 to 1871, some scientists visited this area and they saw the need to protect the natural wonders here. With their great efforts, the Yellowstone Park was born in 1872.

The guide explained that there were different kinds of living bacteria (细菌) inside these hot springs. They could bear the high temperature. Their different colors made the hot springs colorful. How amazing!
Next, I really took my time to enjoy the beauty of this park. I looked for wildlife along streams, and had a picnic under a big tree with my parents. It seemed that I lost myself in this wonderland and nothing could take me away from the sights!

Temperatures can reach 58℃ in the daytime and can fall to -6℃ at night. More than 8,000 years ago, the Sahara was a rich land where farmers grew food and plants grew well. Gary Smith and a few of his brave friends decided to hike across the Sahara. Supporters in cars, who carried food and water for the group, stayed with them together.
