根据Blackpool部分中的第一句“... are keen to catch a glimpse of Blackpool Tower, the city’s most appealing attraction ...”
根据Swansea部分中的第三句“Spending a night here costs just 10 pounds more than in Scarborough.”可知,在Swansea住一晚比在Scarborough贵10英镑;根据下一句“But if you book a week earlier, you can get a 5 percent discount in total.”可知,游客若提前一周预订,就可以得到5%的折扣;根据Scarborough部分中的第三句“While a one-night stay in Scarborough costs 85 ...”
根据Blackpool部分中的“It’s no wonder the town has gained 980.8 million views on TikTok.”可知,Blackpool的观看次数达到了9.808亿次;根据Scarborough部分中的“North Yorkshire’s Scarborough sees 49,500 monthly searches and 686.4 million views on TikTok.”可知,Scarborough有6.864亿的观看次数;根据Swansea部分中的“The Welsh town sees 27,100 monthly searches and has 622.4 million views on TikTok.” 根据Bournemouth部分中的“the high number of views (868.3 million)”可知,Bournemouth有8.683亿次的观看次数。
根据第一段中的“Noticing that the door was open ... was astonished to see the heartwarming scene that people were using it like on a regular day.”和第二段中的“It was scheduled to be closed for the New Year holiday.”
根据第三段中的“Elf announced to ... expressed her regret for what had been done wrong and caused them a problem”可知,Elf和工作团队确认后,向在场人员宣布图书馆即将关闭,并为此前的错误和给他们带来的麻烦表示歉意,即她向图书馆的访客道
故选C。
故选A。
由第三段中的“Gray whales ... reached 23,000”可知,目前太平洋里的灰鲸数量多;由“around 26,000 gray whales ... which is about the number before the whaling boom appeared almost 200 years ago”可知,在whaling boom之前灰鲸数量也比较多,故whaling boom应表示捕鲸现象增多。故选C。
根据题干中的关键词“Halaska’s attitude towards the population of gray whales”可将答案定位至第四段。 故选A。
根据第二段最后一句“When we become unburdened from our depressed selves, we are able to discover the delights and wonders around and experience a deep sense of gratitude.” 故选A。
根据第三段第一句和第二句“At a time when news reports are merely a click away, people’s anxiety becomes even intenser. Because of 24/7 media, the international and the interpersonal have integrated in a way that we have never seen before.”
根据最后一段的内容特别是其中的“Attempt to limit your exposure to updates
on the news and take a couple of moments to count your blessings … Praying for goodness and planting seeds of gratitude may be our only way out.”
36. B 根据下文各段第一句“First, follow your ears.”、“Second, approach the poem as if you were an explorer in an unfamiliar landscape.”和“Third, if you find it hard to interpret the meaning of a poem at the moment, just have some patience.”可知,这几段都是对于阅读诗歌的具体建议,B项“There are four tips on how to read a poem (这里有四个关于阅读诗歌的小建议).”
37. F 上文“If the true meaning is beyond your grasp, pay attention to the sound of it.”提到读诗歌的时候要关注发音,F项“For example, read the poem aloud to detect the rhythm or rhymes (例如,大声朗读诗歌以发现其韵律或押韵).”
38. A 上文“Who is talking Who is being talked to ”是对诗歌人物形象的想象,A项“Sometimes, several images are combined (有时候,几种形象是结合在一起的).” 故选A。
39. C 上文“Third, if you find it hard to interpret the meaning of a poem at the moment, just have some patience.”提到不要急于去理解一首诗的意思,C项“You can set it aside and come back to it later (你可以把它放到一边稍后再回看它).”中的it指的是上文中的a poem。
G项中的“Finally”和上文中的“First”,“Second”,“Third”是并列关系;且G项内容“Finally, you do not have to fully understand a poem to appreciate it (最后,你并不需要为了欣赏一首诗而完全理解它的意思).”和下文“You might need to abandon logical thinking to discover its true inner beauty.”

The robot I want must be hard-working, which can do almost everything for me. It can help me with all my housework. When I have trouble with my studies, it can be my teacher.
The robot can also bring me endless happiness. Like human beings, it has feelings. When I meet with unpleasant things, the robot will chat with me and make me happy. If I want to have a look at the outside world, the robot will spread its beautiful wings and take me there.
This kind of robot is what I want.
Paragraph 1:
Sarah decided to help Mrs. Wilson out. Every Saturday, as Sarah saw Mrs. Wilson, she would treat Mrs. Wilson to her desserts generously and chat with Mrs. Wilson in order to comfort the elderly woman and make Mrs. Wilson feel she was cared about. Influenced by Sarah’s kindness, Mrs. Wilson gradually worked through her sorrow. While enjoying Sarah’s desserts, Mrs. Wilson shared her baking stories and valuable baking experience without reservation with Sarah and offered her tips on opening a bakery after knowing Sarah’s dream.
Paragraph 2:
Over time, their unlikely friendship became noticed in the park. Sarah’s small table was not merely a place to desserts; it turned into a symbol of caring for the elderly. Mrs. Wilson, once a lonely woman, found herself being surrounded by a group of new friends, whose company helped her get out of loneliness. Assisted by Mrs. Wilson, the small table has grown into a shop. Sarah’s bakery has been on the up and up with a constant stream of visitors, who are attracted by both the lovely smell and the moving story.
Text 1
M: Good morning, is that Golden Seaside Restaurant, please
W: Yes, speaking. How may I help you, please
M: I’m calling to ask if there’s a table for four available for tonight.
Text 2
W: Henry, will you go to Mrs. Brown’s office to talk about our project tomorrow
M: No. She isn’t available the whole day tomorrow.
W: So should I change your schedule for tomorrow
M: Yes, please.
Text 3
M: Is it a good time to visit your city at this time of year
W: I don’t think so. If you go now, I’m afraid you’ll be kept indoors most of the time. The sky hardly clears up from March to May there.
Text 4
M: Shirley, what do you usually do at the weekend
W: Every weekend, instead of hanging out with my friends, I pass out food and safety supplies to nearly 800 homeless people with volunteers’ help.
M: Wow, you’re really doing something great!
Text 5
W: Tom, what do you love doing most after school
M: Playing basketball.
W: Why
M: I love meeting other kids and being active. Also, I love competing. It’s awesome when my team works great together to win a game worth winning.
Text 6
W: I can’t believe that we’re actually on our first road trip. California, here we come!
M: I hope we’ve made the right decision to go there.
W: I’m sure we have. It’s our best option. It’s much closer to Utah than Texas. It’ll be too tiring if we drive all the way to Texas from our state. Besides, there’s really a lot to see and do in California.
M: I think you’re right. According to the map, we’re only an hour from our first stop.
W: That’s great! But what about stopping for a breather at the next roadhouse I want a rest.
M: OK.
Text 7
W: Mike, let me buy you something for your birthday.
M: That’s great! Can I ask for anything that I want
W: Sorry, Mike, but I’m not made of money. You can choose something that doesn’t cost over 100 dollars.
M: Thanks. I’ll buy something that I’ve been hoping to get for a while. I need a basketball, but my father has already promised to get me one. I need a new cellphone, but it costs hundreds of dollars. Can I get earphones
W: Certainly. You can choose a pair on this site. Sit down and have a look.
M: Oh, I love this pair. But it’s 9 dollars more than I can ask for.
W: It’s OK. You can get it if you really love it.
M: Thanks, Auntie. You’re the greatest!
Text 8
W: Andrew, it’s already 4:30 pm now. You’ve been reading the book for half an hour without even looking up. You must be reading an interesting storybook.
M: Actually I’m reading a poetry book titled A Place Inside of Me: A Poem to Heal the Heart.
W: Who wrote it
M: It’s written by Zetta Elliott and illustrated by Noa Denmon.
W: So what is it mainly about
M: It’s mainly about one boy’s days and experiences. It is an amazing exploration of the boy’s feelings throughout a period of time, from joy to anger to pride. The poems tell about children in various situations. This book has moved me so deeply.
W: I don’t think we have such a book. Did you borrow it from your school library
M: No. I helped walk Mrs. Johnson’s dog yesterday. She wanted to give me some money, but I didn’t accept it, so she gave me the book instead.
W: Well, since the book is so great, will you recommend it to your classmates
M: Absolutely. I cannot recommend this book highly enough! I cannot wait to bring it to school so my classmates will read it, too.
Text 9
W: What are you reading, Jason
M: I’m reading a news story about a music producer. He has the habit of adopting unique pets.
W: What pet did he adopt most recently
M: A dog named Toby. A shelter (收容所) picked him up while he was walking alone on the street. People at the shelter tried to find him a home, but it proved a near impossible task because he was a two-nosed dog. Toby was at risk of being put down.
W: How did the music producer get to know him
M: He read the ad about the dog. He couldn’t wait to take the dog home. Now Toby has joined Rocky, a five-legged Miniature Pinscher, and Pinky, a two-legged Chihuahua.
W: So does Toby live a normal life
M: Yes. He can play and fetch like any other dog, but thanks to his two noses, he can find anything no matter how well it is hidden.
W: I’m so happy for him.
M: Me, too.
Text 10
M: Until recently, Shade Ajayi had never gone to school. Now 50, the businesswoman is learning to read and write alongside (和……在一起) students nearly 40 years younger than she is. Ajayi attends a school in Ilorin, in Nigeria’s western Kwara state. She wears the same uniform, or school clothing, as hundreds of girls at the school: a pink dress and head covering. As a child, Ajayi worked in her aunt’s shop instead of attending school. She now runs her own business making and selling purses and bags. But she believes her inability to read or write is holding her back. Ajayi signed up to attend school last year, but the school closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Schools reopened in January, 2021 and Ajayi finally got her chance. She sits in a class with students aged 11 to 13 and raises her hand to answer questions. Nasrat Busari, who teaches her, said she did not appear worried about the age difference with other students. Ajayi still makes bags and purses after finishing classes. A helper serves her customers during school hours. She plans to continue her education for four more years, saying it will help her business.
