Summary
形容词的比较级(2)
1)单音节词和少数双音节词一般在词尾后加-er 构成比较级。
2) 以字母 e 结尾的词只加-r 比较级。
3) 重读闭音节词末尾只有一个辅音字母时, 先双写这个辅音
字母, 再加-er。
4) 以“辅音字母+ y”结尾的双音节词, 先改y为i, 再加-er。
5) 多音节词和部分双音节词在词前加more。
多音节形容词和部分双音节形容词的比较级需要在其前加more构成。
前面加more构成比较级的形容词一般有以下几种情况：
①以ing结尾的形容词; ②以ful结尾的形容词;③以ed结尾的形容词;
④多音节的形容词。（三个或三个以上音节构成的单词,我们把
他们称为多音节， 如：popular 就是多音节单词
1.形容词比较级的规则变化
口诀：
比较级有规律, 词尾加上-er两兄弟;
要是以e来结尾, 只有小二(r)跟上去;
重读闭音节词要牢记, 双写千万别忘记;
要是“辅音+y”来结尾, 小艾(i)要把y来替,
再加-er两兄弟;
多音节词加上m-o-r-e, 你看这样多容易。

副词的基本用法
1. 一般说来, 副词主要用来修饰动词、形容词和副词。
e.g. She plays the piano badly.
I’m really tired after last night’s tennis match.
2. 注意副词与形容词在位置及功能上的不同。
副词：
形容词：
通常位于系动词之后或名词之前。
修饰动词时通常出现在行为动词(实义动词)之后。
形容词变副词的方法
1.直接 + ly，如：
careful + ly → carefully
quick + ly → quickly
safe + ly → safely
2.以辅音字母+y结尾, 变y为i, 再+ly, 如：
busy + ly → busily
heavy + ly → heavily
有些词既可作
形容词也可作
副词, 如: fast, early, late 等。
副词比较级和形容词比较级的变化形式大致相同,
也分为规则变化和不规则变化两种。
副词的比较级
1.副词比较级的规则变化
1)单音节的词在词尾直接加-er
e.g. near → nearer hard → harder
2)部分双音节和多音节的词在词前加more
e.g. carefully → more carefully
e.g. warmly → more warmly
2.副词比较级的不规则变化

1. 比较级 + than
e.g. I run faster than he.
e.g. Lily does her homework more carefully than Mary.
2. 比较级 + than+ 比较级
e.g. The days are getting longer and longer in summer.
3. “the +比较级， the + 比较级”，表示“越……，越……”
e.g. The more carefully you drive, the safer it is.
