1. The best time to visit New England is in September.
(1) the best time to do sth.意为“做某事的最佳时间”。
e.g. The best time to visit Harbin is in winter.
(2) 动词不定式to visit….在句中作后置定语,修饰前面的
名词time; 动词不定式(短语)常位于名词或不定代词之
后作定语。
e.g. What is the best way to learn English

2. In Seattle, in the northwest, it is not very cold but it rains a lot,
so bring an umbrella.
(1) in the northwest意为“在西北部”,如果表示“在……的西北部”
用in the northwest of…, 类似的表达还有in the south of,
in the east of等。
e.g. Shandong is in the east of China.
【拓展】英语中表示方向的词：
(2) a lot此处意为“很;非常”,可以修饰
动词、感叹词、形容词或副词的
比较级。
e.g. Lingling like travelling a lot.
This dictionary is a lot more expensive than that one.
3. Do not forget to bring a warm sweater with you.
(1) forget +名词/ 代词
e.g. I will never forget the experiences at the summer camp.
(2) forget to do sth. 忘记去做某事（没有做）
e.g. Don’t forget to hand in your homework.
(3) forget doing sth. 忘记做过某事
e.g. I forgot calling her, so I called her again.
4. In Texas and the southeast, it’s usually very hot and sunny compared to other places.
compare... to... 把……比作……(常表示异类相比，比喻)　
eg：A teacher is often compared to a candle.
教师常被比作蜡烛。
compare... with... 把……和……相比(常表示同类相比，比较)　
eg：Let's compare this article with that one.
咱们把这篇文章和那篇比较一下。
5. There are storms from time to time in summer and autumn.
from time to time 表示“有时，间或”。 (相当于sometimes)
e.g. You should check your health from time to time.
