stay 作动词,可以表示“保持;停留”;
作名词;表示“逗留;停留”。
e.g. Here are some ways for you to stay healthy.

e.g. For the first time in his life he felt truly happy.
3. For example, you must say Mr or Mrs when you meet someone
for the first time.
4. Afternoon tea is not just a drink but a light meal at around 4 pm.
not just...but...的意思是“不仅仅……而且……”。
e.g. Ms liu is not just a teacher but a very good friend of ours.
【注意】该短语作句子的主语时,谓语动词的单复数要与最近的
名词或代词保持一致,即遵循“就近原则”。
【拓展】 not only…but also…意为“不仅…而且…”,
也遵循“就近原则”。
e.g. Not only Mary but also Peter is good at playing the piano.

touch sb. on the shoulder 表示“拍某人的肩膀”, 是英语的惯用表达, 其他类似的表达例子: pat sb. on the head 拍某人的头

notice sb. do sth. 意为“注意到某人做了某事”, 指动作发生的全过程;
notice sb. doing sth.意为“注意到某人正在做某事”, 指动作正在发生。
e.g. I noticed her standing behind me. 我注意到她正站在我后面。
e.g. I did not notice you come in. 我没注意到你进来了。
【拓展】 notice作名词时,意为“布告,通告”。
e.g. There is a notice about our school in front of the classroom building.
