美国达人秀（America's Got Talent）是美国全国广播公司（NBC）播出的一档综艺才华选秀比赛，节目对参赛者职业、年龄、表演内容均不作限制，因此除常见的歌舞表演外，动作表演、杂耍、魔术以及许多无法归类的神奇表演也纷纷登场，增加了节目的娱乐性。许多选手在舞台上“一鸣惊人”的表演亦令观众为之倾倒。节目的优胜者最终可获得丰厚奖金。

“more and more+形容词/副词原级”表示“越来越……”，此处指的是多音节或部分双音节形容词或副词。单音节或部分双音节形容词或副词在表示“越来越……”时，用”比较级+and+比较级“结构。

common是名词，意为“与……相同”。
have … in common有相同特征; (想法、兴趣等方面)相同。该短语中have后可用much, nothing, a lot等词或短语作宾语。
e.g. The two games have nothing in common.
3. That’s up to you to decide.
be up to sb.是一个习惯用语, 用来表示“是……的职责; 由……决定”, 句子的主语通常为it, 有时也可用this或that.
e.g. You can join the club once or twice a week— it’s up to you.

4.When people watch the show, they usually play a role in deciding the winner.
play a role是一种固定表达, 意为“扮演某一角色; 起到某种作用”。若要进一步引出具体的内容, 后面应用介词in, 表示“在某事或某个方面起到作用或承担某种角色”。

5.Some think that the lives of the performers are made up.
make up意为“编造（故事、谎言等）”。此处are made up为被动语态结构，意为“被编造”。另：make sb./oneself up意为“给某人/自己化妆”。
