Fred had coughed for a week. His doctor told him not to drink cold drinks or eat oily(多油的) food. At home, he made sure that he cooked and ate a balanced meal of fish, meat, vegetables and soup.
Soon, Fred’s coughing became worse and he was too ill to cook. He decided to eat some roast chicken with salad at a nearby restaurant. He also ordered a bowl of corn soup and a glass of water.
“Please have the chicken cooked with as a little fat(油脂) as possible. The vegetables must be fresh. The soup must be light with less salt. Remember not to put any ice into the water,” he told the waiter.
“Very well, Sir. I’ll tell the cook,” answered the waiter impatiently(不耐烦地). Just when the waiter was about to head to the kitchen. Fred stopped him.
“I forgot to tell you that I only want the leg of the chicken,” Fred added(补充).
