宾语从句
1. 定义:在句子中起宾语作用的从句叫做宾语从句。
引导宾语从句的常见关联词有that, if, whether, what,
where, why, how等。
2. 三要素:①引导词(连接词): that, if, whether
②时态:当主句用一般过去时时态时,宾语从句
要用过去的某种时态。
③语序:宾语从句用陈述句语序,即 “主语+谓语”。
e.g. He asked me where my school was.
I didn’t know who she was

1. 由that引导的宾语从句:当宾语从句具有陈述意义时,用 that引导。that 在句中无词汇意义,在从句中不充当成分,在口语当中往往省略。
e.g. I think (that) math is difficult.
She said (that) she would leave a note on the desk.
【注意】连词that不能省略的几种情况:
①1. 从句的主语是that。
e.g. He says that that is a real king’s hat.
②that从句中含有主从复合句。
e.g.I’m afraid that if you’ve lost it, you must pay for it.
③主、从句之间有插入语时。
e.g.It says here, on this card, that it was used in plays.
④若出现两个或两上以上的由that引导的宾语从句,且由
并列连词连接时,只有第一个连词that可以省略。
She said (that) she would come and that she would also bring her son.

2.由if / whether引导的宾语从句:当宾语从句具有疑问意义时,可用if或whether引导。它们在句子中的意思是是否, 不能省略。
① if和whether引导宾语从句时,作“是否”讲,一般情况下,二者
没有区别,可以换用。但if常用于口语中,whether比较正式。
e.g. Millie asked if/whether he liked this sweater.
② 由于if和whether连接的是一般疑问句,因此要注意把从句语序
改为陈述句语序。
e.g.Does Mr Zhao live in Room 208 Could you tell me
→Could you tell me if/whether Mr Zhao lives in Room 208
③ if和whether的区别(二者在下列几种情况下不能换用):
1. 宾语从句置于句首表示强调时,应用whether,不用if。
e.g. Whether this is true or not, I can’t say.
2. 宾语从句与or not直接连用时,应用whether,不能用if。
e.g. I don’t know whether or not he will come tomorrow.
3. 与动词不定式连用时,只能用whether。
e.g. She can’t decide whether to go to America.
4. 从句作介词宾语时,只能用whether。
e.g. I worry about whether I hurt her feeling.
5. 宾语从句的谓语动词是否定形式时,只能用if,不能用whether。
e.g. Tom wants to know if she won’t come here tomorrow.
6. if意为“假如,如果”时,可以引导条件状语从句,而whether没有这个用法。
e.g. If Simon comes here tomorrow, I’ll call you.
Summary
宾语从句的时态变化
宾语从句的时态一般受主句时态的影响。当主句是一般现在时或一般将来时,宾语从句可以根据具体情况用适当的时态;当主句是一般过去时,从句要用相应的过去时。

一般过去时 与原句相对应的过去的时态
客观事实、真理、自然现象、名言警句、谚语等 一律用一般现在时
宾语从句歌:
学习宾从三注意,时态语序和连词。时态主从要呼应:
主句若为现在时,从句时态随句意;主句若为过去时,从句时态变过去;
宾从若是表真理,时态不变无质疑。语序要用陈述序,切莫照搬疑问句。
That 连接陈述句,省与不省要注意。从句若表“是否”时,if/whether要慎记。
特殊问句作宾语,仍用原来疑问词。三个问题需牢记,切莫丢东忘了西。

What和How引导的感叹句
表示喜怒哀乐等强烈感情的句子叫感叹句。感叹句句末通常用感叹号,读时一般用降调。英语感叹句常用"what"和"how"引导,"what"和"how"与所修饰的词置于句首,其它部分用陈述句语序。
◆What开头的感叹句
1.What + a / an +adj.+可数名词单数+主语+谓语+其他成分!
e.g. What a strong boy he is! What an honest girl Mary is!
2.What +adj.+可数名词复数/不可数名词+主语+谓语+其他成分!
e.g. What brave soldiers they are!
What fine weather it is today!
what +名词短语(形容词+名词),单数可数名词前带a/an,复数和不可数名词不带。
错误:What a fine weather! weather为不可数名词,前不带a.
正确: What fine weather!/What a fine day!
