Step 1. Lead-in. Let’s begin with a riddle. Ss: They are friends. Ss: our friends Step 2. Pre-reading. Have a review of the differences between two friends in comparative forms. Work on 2a. Think of some phrases about “the same” and “different”. Write the comparative forms of the adjectives. Then use them to say out five sentences about them and their friends. Watch a video about “What kind of things are important” and get some more ideas. Step 3. While-reading. 1. Fast reading. Underline the comparative (比较级) forms and find his/her friend. Careful reading. Read Jeff's story and answer the questions. Sa: Jeff is quieter and more serious than most kids. Sb: Yuan Li is quiet,too. Sc: No, he doesn't. Because he is shy. It's not easy for him to make friends . Read Huang Lei's story and tell true (T) or false (F).Correct if necessary. Sa: the same as--quite different from Sb:Change Huang Lei with Larry.
