Most people have heard of Shakespear and probably know something 'about the plays that he wrote. However, not everyone knows much about the life of this unusual man, except perhaps that he was born in the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon and that he married a woman called Anne Hathaway. We know nothing of his school life. We don't know, for example, how long it lasted, but we presume(推测) that he attended the local .grammar school, where the main subject taught was Latin.
Nothing certain is known of what he did between the time he left school and his going to London. According to a local legend, he was beaten and even put into prison(监狱) for stealing rabbits and deer(鹿) from a landowner, Sir Thomas Lucy. It is said that because of this, he was forced to run away from his native place. A different legend says that he was apprenticed(学徒)to a Stratford butcher, but didn't like the life and for this reason he decided to leave Stratford. .
Whatever caused him to leave the town of his birth the world can be thankful that he did so. What is certain is that he set his foot on the road to fame(名声) when he arrived in London. It is said that at first he had no money or friends there, but later he. made a little money by taking care of the horses -of the gentleman who attended the plays at the theater. At times, as he became familiar(熟悉) to the actors in the theater, they stopped and spoke to him. They found his conversation so brilliant(有才学) that finally he was invited to join their company.

a simple skill write design you easy hard minute month read color
The holiday is upon us. Alter 1 of study, you have some time to yourself So why not read a book
Well, some people will say, "Why trouble with books We have the Internet and other media(媒体) that offer a lot more 2 programs. Books are history!" But don't be fooled. There's still a lot to be said for 3 as widely as possible.
One clear reason is that a well-chosen book is a wonderful collection of words and expressions as long as(只要) you have a dictionary, of course. Believe me. It's much 4 to get new English words and expressions from a book or 5 article than it is from the TV or the Internet.
But an even more important point is that books give you something that modern media(媒体) 6 can't. The webpage is always full of pictures and the text is often 7 to make it as easy to read as possible. Though "easy" may be welcome, unluckily it's of little use of any long-time development of reading 8 . For that there's still no substitute(代替) for a book.
But perhaps the best simple reason is that simply choosing what you read and doing it by 9 means that it's something you do by and for yourself You can choose what you want to read: It's 10 work, but while you are reading, you'll find what once seemed like a duty is now a pleasure.
