Scene 3:On the Sea
(The fisherman is standing on the coast,looking out towards the sea. Waves can be heard.)
Fisherman:Goldfish,are you there
Goldfish:(It jumps out.) Yes,Mr. Fisherman. What can I do for you
Fisherman:Could I have a new house My wife really wants one.
Goldfish:No problem. You will have a new house very soon.
Scene 4:A New House
(The wife is looking around the new house. The fisherman enters.)
Wife:How stupid you are!Look at me! I have no good clothes and no beautiful handbags. Go back at once! I want to be a rich lady!
Fisherman:Don′t be angry,my dear. I will go back and ask for that.
(The lights go off. Waves can be heard.)
Fisherman:Goldfish! Are you there
Goldfish:Yes. What else can I do for you,Mr. Fisherman
Fisherman:Could you please make my wife a rich lady?
Goldfish:OK.
(The lights come back on. The wife is wearing beautiful new clothes and sitting among servants and guards.)
Wife:Go and see that goldfish at once! I want to be Queen of the Sea and all the fish should serve me!
Fisherman:You are mad ! It′s too much.
Wife:You are old and stupid! Go right now,or I will punish you!
Scene 5:On the Sea
(The lights go off. Strong waves can be heard.)
Fisherman:Goldfish! Are you there
Goldfish:Yes,Mr. Fisherman.
Fisherman:I am sorry,but could you make my wife Queen of the Sea She also wants all the fish to serve her.
(There is no reply—only the sound of the waves crashing on the coast. The lights go on. The fisherman′s wife is back in the old house wearing poor clothes again.)

渔夫站在海边,看着前面的大海。
looking out towards the sea 是现在分词短语作状语,用在动词后表示伴随状况。
e.g. Mr. Zhou walked into the room, carrying a basket on his shoulder.
周先生肩上扛着一个篮子走进了房间。
Language points
enter作及物动词,意为“进入”,另外还可以表达“加入;参加;入学;登记,记录”等含义。
e.g. The teacher entered the classroom.
老师进入了教室。
His elder brother entered the army last year.
他哥哥去年参了军。
We entered our names in the guest book.
我们在来客名册上登记了名字。
enter /'ent (r)/ vt.& vi.进入;参加; 登记

How stupid+主语+谓语!……多么傻呀!
辨析silly,foolish与stupid
silly 指“头脑简单的,不懂事的;傻头傻脑的”。
foolish 指“无头脑的,缺乏常识的,缺乏判断能力的”。
stupid 指“智力差的,反应迟钝的”。
3. How stupid you are!
e.g. Stop asking such silly questions! 别再问这样傻的问题了!
He is foolish to throw away such a chance.
他真蠢,失去了这么一个机会。
Mary made a stupid mistake. 玛丽犯了一个愚蠢的错误。
感叹句的用法:
由How引导的感叹句。其结构是:How+形容词(副词)+主语+谓语!
e.g. How hard the workers are working! 工人们工作多么努力啊!
How clever the girl is!这个女孩真聪明!
由What 引导的感叹句。主要有以下两种形式:
What +a(an)+形容词+单数可数名词+主语+谓语!
What +形容词+可数名词复数或不可数名词+主语+谓语!
e.g. What a big apple this is! 这个苹果真大!
What kind women they are!她们真是善良的女人!
Could you please...?请你……好吗?
此句是请求别人帮助时通常说的话,也可以说“Can you..., please?”,用could比用can在语气上显得更委婉。
e.g. Could you help me find my book,please
请问你能帮助我找到我的书吗?
4. Could you please make my wife a rich lady?
对Could you/I ...?的问句作出肯定回答,常用“Sure./Certainly. /Of course.”等;作否定回答,常用“Sorry...”,一般不用No开头。
e.g. —Could you give me a bottle of orange juice,please
请问你能给我一瓶橘汁吗?
—Sure. Here you are.
当然可以。给你。
serve作及物动词,意为“为……服务、招待”,后加名词或代词作宾语。
e.g. ①I don’t want to serve such a man. 我不想为这样的人服务。
②She served us with Chinese food. 她用中餐招待了我们。
serve作不及物动词,意为“任职、供职”,单独使用。
e.g. My brother serves in a big company. 我哥哥在一家大公司任职。
5. I want to be Queen of the Sea and all the fish should serve me!
6. She also wants all the fish to serve her.
她还想让所有的鱼都为她效劳。
to serve her是动词不定式用在宾语all the fish后作宾语补足语。动词want, ask, tell, order, invite等都可加不定式作宾语补足语。
e.g. ① She asked me to help her with her English.
她请我帮她学英语。
② Bill told Li Ping to give his best wishes to everybody.
比尔告诉李萍由衷地祝福每个人。
