e.g. He graduated from an American college.

graduation为名词，意为“毕业；毕业典礼”。

辨析：forget 与leave
forget 意为“忘记某事”。
leave 意为“把某物忘在某地”。
e.g. Last time, you left the umbrella here. Today you’d better not forget it.

4. Whatever we do in the future, we will always have great memories of our time together.
whatever /w t'ev r/ 无论什么
whatever 作代词，在此处引导让步状语从句，相当于no matter what。
e.g. Whatever/No matter what I do, she feels unhappy.
无论我做什么，她都不开心。
拓展：whatever 作连接代词，还可引导名词性从句，如主语从句、宾语从句。
e.g. Whatever she did was right. 她做的一切都是对的。
Wherever you go, don’t forget your hometown.
=No matter where you go, don’t forget your hometown.
无论你去哪里别忘了你的家乡。
与whatever 用法相似的词还有：
whoever =no matter who 无论谁
whenever = no matter when 无论何时
wherever = no matter where 无论何地
however = no matter how 无论怎样

believe /b 'li v/ v. 相信
辨析：believe sb. 与believe in sb.
believe sb. 相信某人，指相信某人所说的话是真的。
believe in sb. 信任某人。
e.g. I believe him, but I don’t believe in him.
我相信他所说的话，但我不信任他。
拓展：
I believe 后接表示否定意义的宾语从句时，需将否定前移。
e.g. I don’t believe that everyone believes in him.
我相信，并非每个人都信任他。
有此用法的常见词还有think, suppose，imagine, expect 等。
almost /' lm st/ adv. 几乎
辨析：almost, nearly 与hardly
almost 可以跟no，nothing，never 这类否定词连用。
nearly 不可跟否定词连用，但not nearly 表示“远不如”的意思。
hardly 为否定词，意为“几乎不”，用在情态动词之后，行为动词之前。hardly ever 意为“几乎从不”。
e.g. Almost no one takes a rest.
几乎没有人休息。
It is not nearly so cheap as you think.
它远非你想的那么便宜。
She hardly ever calls me.
她几乎从未给我打过电话。

wonder /'w nd (r)/ v. 想知道；想弄明白
e.g. We all wondered what had happened.
wonder at对……感到惊讶

wonder +if/whether/特殊疑问词引导的从句
e.g. I wonder why he left.
拓展：wonder 作不可数名词，意为“惊讶；惊奇；惊叹”；作可数名词，意为“奇观；奇迹”。其形容词形式为wonderful，意为“精彩的”。
e.g. How wonderful the Great Wall is! I wonder whether the Great Wall is the greatest ancient wonder in China. 长城太令人惊叹了！我想知道长城是否是中国最伟大的古代奇观。
