【创设情境】
用提问的方式引导学生回答问题,学习生词进而知晓本课时所学主题“做家务”。接着练习1a巩固所学短语。然后通过听力练习1b,教会学生如何礼貌的发出请求使用“Could you please ……?”。

教材分析
本单元是新目标八年级下册第三单元Section A 部分。话题为“chores and permission”家务活和许可。教学内容贴近学生生活,学生有一定学习兴趣。本单元的语言目标是学会提出礼貌请求以及寻求对方许可(make polite requests and ask for permission)。

创设情境
1. PowerPoint with pictures of do the dishes, take out the rubbish, fold your clothes, sweep the floor, make your bed, clean the living room.
2. The teacher asks: Do you do these chores at home Then ask students to discuss with their partners.
启发思考
Ask students what other chores they know to get them know more chores.
Play the recording the first time. Students only listen. Play the recording a second time. This time ask the students to listen to the conversations and check (√) who will do these chores, Peter’s
mother or Peter. The answers are Peter’s mother (do the dishes, sweep the floor, clean the living room), Peter (take out the trash, make the bed, fold the clothes)
Then write down “Could you please do …和Can you do … ” on the blackboard and ask students to compare and teach the usage of “could”.
三、自主或小组探究
1. 1c.Say the sample conversations. Have students repeat. Then ask students to practice the conversations in pairs. Ask them to use the vocabulary from 1a. As students work, listen in on various pairs so that you can check progress and help with pronunciation as needed.
After students have had a chance to practice the conversations, ask pairs to come to the front of the class and act out one of their conversations.
Get students to interview in groups of 4/6 about what chores they do at home and how often they do them. Then report the results like this: Hello! I’m ….In my group, … does the dishes and _______________________________________________________________________.We think ... is the most able one at home.
Ask the students to look at the picture in 2a. Ask students to read the phrases in the chart and try to give explanations to them, e.g. go out for dinner means eat out in a restaurant or a food shop. Then play the recording and check yes or no in 2a. Check the answers.
The answers are: yes (go out for dinner, go to the movies); no (stay out late, get a ride)
Play the recording again and ask students to draw lines to the reasons in the chart in 2a. Check the answers.
The answers are: stay out-You have a basketball game, get a ride-I have to do some work.
四、协作交流
Make conversations using the information in 2c&2b. Then invite several pairs to act them out.
Listen and role-play the conversation in 2d.

教学反思
本节课的内容主要在于让学生能学习新单词和情态动词could表达请求,以及肯定及否定回答。学生在学习过程中容易将could误认为是过去时态,这是难点并且要教会学生在答语中用can而非could。
