When she was alone,Mary felt lonelier than ever. She went out of the house and ran around the garden ten times. Ben Weatherstaff was working in it.
“Spring is coming,” he said to Mary.“I can smell it in the air. Soon there will be spring flowers.”At this moment, the robin flew toward them and landed at Mary's feet.
“He remembers me,” she said.
“He knows everything that happens here,” Ben said.“Only he knows what's happening in the garden that has no door into it. No one else has been inside it for ten years.”
Ben walked away to continue his work. Mary bent down and began talking to the robin. She felt happier than she had ever felt.
The robin trusted her and did not fly away. It began pecking at the ground, looking for a worm to eat. Mary looked closely at the ground. She saw something that looked like metal. She picked it up. It was dirty and rusty. She cleaned it and saw that it was a key.
“It's been in the ground for many years,” she thought.“I wonder if it is the key to the garden. If it is,then I must find the door.”
Mary skipped around the garden. The robin followed her. Mary stopped skipping and spoke to the robin.
“He showed me where to find the key,” she thought.“Can you show me where the door is?”
The robin sat on the top of the garden wall. It began to sing. The wall was covered with ivy. Mary pulled at a piece of the ivy. It came away from the wall. Behind the wall was a door. Do video games do harm to our children Today, many children spend a lot of their free time playing games on the Internet. In the UK, 99% of kids aged 8 to 15 play video games every week. This information tells us that the benefits and dangers of video games must be carefully considered.
For many people, video games are fun. They have bright lights, funny cartoons and exciting stories. Everywhere you look, you can see children playing these games. They play on buses and trains, in restaurants and even at school.
Video games are educational too. They make kids think in a creative way and they have to move their hands and eyes quickly. This can improve the way that a child's brain works. What's more, video games make children use their imagination. The player has to do many creative things, like drawing, telling stories and building things. Video games are also a good way to teach children about technology because they can learn how computers and other devices work while they play.
However, a recent study suggests that video games can also be bad for children. First, children can download many games for free. This means that parents often don't know if their children are playing violent or scary games. Second, many children spend too much time playing games on computers and this can lead to health problems. Third, if children spend too much time playing games instead of doing homework, they can have problems at school and get bad grades. Finally, video games can affect children's social skills. If children spend too much time playing video games by themselves, they might not learn how to play with their friends.
In conclusion, it seems clear that video games have some advantages and some disadvantages. It is up to parents to know what games their children are playing and how much time they spend on them. Parents should also make sure their children get enough exercise and spend time with other children.

I'm glad that you'll spend your holiday in China. Here are some things you need to know when you stay in China.
First, you are supposed to shake hands when you meet someone for the first time. Second, when you eat dinner, it's rude to point at others with your chopsticks. Besides, if you are going to a party, you are supposed to arrive on time, or a few minutes earlier. What's more, you are not supposed to give clocks to your friends as presents. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay in China.
Yours,

C)请听下面一段独白,根据独白内容完成下列句子,每个空格不超过3个单词。听独白前你将有50秒钟的时间阅读句子内容。独白读两遍。
Different countries have different customs in giving presents.
In China you must never give a clock to a Chinese person, because the sound of the word for “clock” is similar to the sound for“death” in Chinese. Also, don’t wrap(包裹) a present in white, black or blue paper, because these are the colors for funerals(葬礼).Don’t give a knife, because something sharp(锋利的) can cut a friendship.
In Russia if we give flowers as a present,we have to give an odd number(one, three, five, etc.)of them because even numbers(two, four, six, etc.)of flowers are for funerals.
In Germany flowers are a good present to take to your dinner hostess, but don’t take her red roses because it means you are in love with her.Don’t take thirteen of anything because it’s an unlucky number.Don’t take an even number of anything, either.Don’t wrap your present in white, brown or black paper.
