四、教学过程
Step 1: Warming up (5 minutes)
Start the class with a friendly greeting.
Show some pictures of famous world wonders on the PPT. While showing each picture, ask a few questions :
Have you ever seen this wonder before
Do you know where it is located
What do you think of it "
Encourage students to share their thoughts and experiences briefly.
Step 2: Vocabulary presentation (10 minutes)
On the PPT, show the new words and phrases one by one: "wonder", "natural", "man-made", "be famous for".
For each word or phrase:
(1)Use pictures or short videos to illustrate the meaning. For example, for "natural", show a beautiful natural landscape; for "man-made", show a picture of a skyscraper.
(2)Provide simple and clear explanations in English. Repeat the word or phrase several times and ask students to follow.
(3)Ask students to think of examples related to the word or phrase and share them with the class.

Step 3: Listening (10 minutes)
Before playing the recording, give students a brief introduction to the conversation they are about to hear, such as: "Today, we are going to listen to a conversation about some world wonders. Let's see what they talk about."
Play the recording of the conversation in the textbook for the first time. Ask students to just listen and try to catch the main idea.
Play it a second time. This time, show some questions on the PPT:
How old is the Great Wall
What is the Terracotta Army famous for
Which wonder do they mention first
After listening, have students discuss the answers in pairs and then share with the whole class. Check and correct the answers together.
Step 4: Reading (15 minutes)
Distribute the text to students or show it on the PPT.
Ask students to read the text silently by themselves. While they are reading, walk around the classroom to observe and offer help if needed.
After reading, have students work in pairs to answer some comprehension questions.
Where is the Great Wall located
How many wonders are mentioned in the text What are they
What can you learn about the Terracotta Army
Invite some pairs to share their answers. If there are any differences or uncertainties, have a class discussion to clarify.
Step 5: Language points (10 minutes)
Highlight some important language points on the PPT:
(1)The usage of "more than": more than = over There are more than 50 students in the class.
(2)Be famous for = be well-known China is famous for its long history.
(3)Point out the sentence structure in the text like "It's + adj. + to do sth." and have students make their own sentences.
2. Have students take notes and do some practice exercises to consolidate the language points. .
Step 6: Summary and homework (5 minutes)
Summarize the key points of the lesson: the new words and phrases, the main idea of the text, and the important language points.

Step 1: Revision (5 minutes)
Review the new words and phrases by having a dictation.
Choose three students to retell the text. Encourage them to add their own thoughts and expressions.
Step 2: speaking (15 minutes)
Show some vivid and clear pictures of world wonders. For each picture, guide the students to observe the details carefully and describe it step by step.
Let the students work in pairs. One student describes a wonder and the other student guesses which one it is. After several rounds, they can switch roles. This activity can enhance their communication skills and deepen their understanding of the wonders.
Step 3: Writing (15 minutes)
Before the students start writing, give them a few minutes to think quietly about the world wonder they want to write about. Ask them to make a simple outline in their notebooks.
Step 4: Presentation and feedback (15 minutes)
Invite five students to come to the front of the class to read their passages aloud one by one. The other students should listen carefully and take notes of the advantages and areas for improvement.
Then let the classmates give their comments and suggestions.
Summarizes and corrects the common mistakes. At the same time, highlight the excellent expressions and sentences to encourage the students.
