学生能够掌握并正确运用文中的重点词汇,同时能够熟练运用这些词汇进行书面和口头表达。
掌握文中涉及到的描述公共假日的句型和表达方式,并能在实际情境中灵活运用。

能够快速、准确地阅读并理解关于公共假日的介绍性文章,通过略读和精读技巧获取文章的主旨大意、细节信息和隐含意义。
能够仿照课文的结构和语言风格,撰写一篇结构清晰、内容丰富、语言准确的关于自己喜欢的公共假日的短文。
能够在小组讨论和课堂展示中,清晰、流畅地用英语表达自己对不同公共假日的看法和感受。
情感态度目标
深入了解不同国家公共假日背后的文化内涵和历史意义,增进对多元文化的尊重、理解和欣赏,培养全球视野。

二、教学重难点
教学重点:
深入理解并熟练掌握课文中的重点词汇、句型和表达方式,能够在不同情境中准确运用。
掌握课文的篇章结构和写作思路,学习如何有条理地描述公共假日的相关信息。
教学难点:
如何引导学生将所学的语言知识和写作技巧转化为实际的写作能力,创作出内容丰富、语言优美的短文。
培养学生在跨文化交流中对不同文化的敏感性和包容性。

四、教学过程
Step 1: Lead-in (8 minutes)
Start the class by playing a short video showcasing people celebrating various public holidays around the world. After the video, ask students to name the public holidays they saw and describe the scenes briefly.
Show a set of pictures featuring different public holidays. Have a quick quiz where students need to match the pictures with the correct names of the holidays.
Initiate a brief discussion by asking students: What is your favorite public holiday and why Encourage them to share their personal experiences and feelings associated with that holiday.
Step 2: Pre-reading (8 minutes)
Project a list of key words and phrases from the text onto the screen. Ask students to work in pairs and try to guess the meanings of these words.
Present the title of the text and show a few related pictures. Ask students to make predictions about the content of the text. Encourage them to think creatively and share their predictions with the class.
Step 3: While-reading (20 minutes)
Fast reading:
Instruct students to read the text quickly within 3 minutes. Ask them to summarize the main idea of the text and identify the public holidays mentioned.
Invite several students to share their summaries and check if they have grasped the overall content correctly.
Careful reading:
Students read the text carefully for the second time. Provide a detailed table on the PPT. Students need to fill in the table based on the information from the text.
After they finish, have a class discussion to check and clarify the answers. Select some difficult sentences from the text. Explain how the words and phrases contribute to the meaning of the sentence and help students understand the text better.
Step 4: Post-reading (12 minutes)
Group discussion:
Divide students into small groups of 4-5. Provide the following discussion topics:
(1)What are the similarities and differences between the public holidays mentioned in the text
(1)How do these public holidays reflect the cultural values of the respective countries
(1)Which public holiday do you think is the most interesting and why
2. Each group appoints a recorder to note down the key points of the discussion. After 5 minutes of discussion, each group presents their findings and conclusions to the class.
Personal sharing:
Ask students to share any personal experiences related to the public holidays discussed.
Encourage other students to ask questions after each sharing to promote interaction and communication.
Step 5: Writing (12 minutes)
Writing task:
Assign the writing task: Ask students to choose a public holiday that they like and write a short paragraph about it.
Provide clear instructions and requirements.
Writing guidance:
0ffer some writing tips and guidance.
Plan the paragraph. Outline the main points to cover.
Use linking words and phrases to make your writing more coherent.
Step 6: Presentation and Feedback (8 minutes)
Presentation:
Invite several students to come to the front and present their writings to the class. Read aloud their paragraphs and explain their ideas and thoughts.
Feedback and evaluation:
After each presentation, encourage other students to give feedback and suggestions.
Point out the strengths and weaknesses of each writing, and offer specific suggestions for improvement.
Summarize the common mistakes and difficulties that students encounter during the writing process and provide some general writing tips and strategies.
Step 5: Summary (3 minutes)
回顾本节课所学的重点单词和现在完成时的用法。
总结文章的主要内容和结构。
Step 6: Homework (2 minutes)
完善自己写的短文。
查阅资料,了解更多关于其他国家公共假日的起源和庆祝方式。

六、教学反思
在本节课的教学中,通过多种阅读任务和小组活动,学生能够较好地理解文章内容,掌握重点词汇和现在完成时的用法。但在小组讨论环节,部分学生的参与度不够高,语言表达不够流畅。在今后的教学中,要加强对学生口语表达的训练,提供更多的语言支持和引导。同时,在作业布置上可以更加多样化,满足不同层次学生的需求。
