2. What is remarkable about the road
The video is about the historical importance of the ancient Silk Road and its revival through China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
It got its name because a lot of the trade along the road was in Chinese silk.
The road is remarkable firstly because it lasted around 1,700 years, from the Han Dynasty until the Ming Dynasty. Secondly, it was a unique and important cultural crossroads between the East and West.

The first picture is of a foreign student and two Chinese students walking through their school; in the second picture, a foreign boy and a Chinese boy are doing tai chi, a traditional Chinese sport; in the third picture, a group of tourists are walking on the Great Wall; the last picture shows a foreign businessman is shaking hands with a Chinese one.
