一、教学目标

四、教学过程
Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
Play a short video about different beautiful hometowns and countries around the world, showing the unique scenery, architecture, and local customs.
After the video, have a free talk with students. Ask them questions: What did you see in the video Which place impressed you the most Why
Step 2: Review and Presentation (10 minutes)
Use PPT to show pictures of different places and ask students to describe them using the words and phrases they learned in this module.
Present the grammar points systematically. For the prepositions of location, explain the differences and usage of “in”, “on” and “to” with diagrams and examples. For the comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives and adverbs, show the rules and changes, and give plenty of examples.
Have students do some oral practices to consolidate the grammar points.
Step 3: Practice (10 minutes)
Show some multiple-choice questions and fill-in-the-blank exercises on the screen. These exercises cover the vocabulary, phrases and grammar points. Students do the exercises individually and then check the answers together.
Divide the class into pairs. Ask them to make conversations about their hometowns or favorite places, using the language points they just learned. Encourage them to use comparative and superlative degrees to describe the differences and similarities. Walk around the classroom to monitor and offer help if necessary.
Step 4: Group Work (12 minutes)
Divide students into groups of four. Give each group a set of cards with different places and their detailed information, including location, population, famous attractions, etc.
Ask the groups to compare and discuss the places based on the information on the cards. Each group needs to make a presentation to introduce the similarities and differences among these places.
During the group work, encourage students to express their opinions freely and cooperate with each other. After each group finishes their presentation, other groups ask questions or make comments.
Step 5: Summary (2 minutes)
总结比较级和最高级的用法及注意事项。
强调在描述家乡和城市时,如何准确选择词汇和句型。
Step 6: Homework (1 minutes)

Step 1: Revision (5 minutes)
Start the class with a quick review. Have a dictation of some key words and phrases.
Invite a few students to come to the front and present the information they collected about the foreign country or city. Encourage other students to listen carefully and ask questions.
Step 2: Reading and Comprehension (8 minutes)
Present a passage about a particular hometown on the PPT. The passage should include various language points and structures they have learned.
Ask students to read the passage silently first and then answer some comprehension questions. The questions can cover details, main idea, inference and language usage.
After answering the questions, analyze the structure and language usage of the passage together. Discuss how the author organizes the content, uses transition words and descriptive language to make the passage coherent and vivid.
Step 3: Writing Guidance (8 minutes)
Provide detailed writing tips and a clear framework for writing about a place. Explain how to start with an attractive introduction, then describe the location, features, history, culture, people and other aspects in the main body, and finally end with a conclusion that expresses personal feelings.
Show some excellent sample sentences and paragraphs to illustrate how to use rich vocabulary, diverse sentence structures, and proper linking words. Also, point out common mistakes and how to avoid them.
Give students a topic “My Hometown” , and ask them to make an outline based on the guidance.
Step 4: Writing Practice (10 minutes)
Ask students to write a composition based on the outline they made. Remind them to pay attention to the grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Walk around the classroom, offer individualized guidance and answer students' questions. Encourage students to think creatively and express their own ideas.
Step 5: Feedback and Evaluation (6 minutes)
Select several students' compositions and project them on the screen. Ask the class to read and give their initial feedback.
Then, the teacher gives comprehensive comments and suggestions on each composition, focusing on the content, organization, language and handwriting. Provide specific praise and constructive criticism to help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
Ask students to exchange their compositions with their deskmates and give each other feedback. They can use a checklist or rubric provided by the teacher.
Step 5: Summary (2 minutes)

六、教学反思
