在初中阶段的英语教学中，初四英语阅读水平的高低直接影响着学生在整个中学阶段的英语成绩，同时也阻碍了初中英语教学质量的提高。因此，如何提高阅读水平，大面积提高教学质量，使学生在初中阶段获得较好的成绩，是在初中阶段的英语教学中，初四英语阅读水平的高低直接影响着学生在整个中学阶段的英语成绩，同时也阻碍了初中英语教学质量的提高。
英语阅读课旨在充分利用教材，培养学生的阅读能力。英语新教材为增加学生的阅读，培养学生的阅读能力，增加了许多阅读材料。但在教学过程中，由于受时间限制，往往不能充分利用这些阅读材料进行阅读训练。
近几年来，英语的考试改革侧重于阅读和写作。而我们的教学还是侧重于词汇和语法的教学，学生的阅读能力太差。没有整体阅读的方法和能力。因此，我在教学中就采取整体阅读的教学方法，以培养学生的阅读水平和方法。阅读课的整体教学能在有限的时间内，以学生的阅读为主，采用泛读、精读、朗读等形式，训练学生的阅读速度和阅读技巧，指导学生高效阅读，提高阅读能力。
通过本课的教学提高学生参与的积极性，激发他们阅读的兴趣。形成积极的学习态度，发展学生探究学习和合作精神，从而提高学生阅读分析、判断能力。我在英语日常阅读课教学中不断地探索和研究，创造性地实施了“问题情景教学法”的尝试，形成了以下的认识：
1.“语言点问题”的设计与作用。根据阅读课文材料，老师精心设计部分“小问题”，而这些问题的回答就是一些重要的新的语言知识的展现，这些问题浅而易懂，学生通过快速阅读（或听力训练），了解材料内容，很快找到问题的答案，有成功感，提高了他们参与的积极性，激发他们阅读的兴趣。
2.“整体理解性问题”的设计与作用。随着词汇、语言点的处理，老师再精心设计部分“大问题”，促使学生加强对段落的理解，理顺事件发生的顺序，人物行为，加深对文章整体的把握，获取中心意思。同时，根据学生对问题的回答，老师可精选几个重点段落，篇章，引导学生加强朗读，在朗读中猜测生词、难句的意思，加深对句子章节、文章的理解，体验作者意图、态度、感受。从而培养学生的英语阅读和分析能力
3.“趣味思考性问题”的设计与作用。在处理了语言点知识，对文章整体认识后，老师可精心设计一些激发学生兴趣问题，有些问题可让学生相互讨论。进一步促使学生去了解作者观点、态度，提高捕捉加工整合材料信息能力。预测事件情节发展或后果的能力。激发学生学习兴趣，形成积极的学习态度。发展学生探究学习和合作精神。从而提高学生阅读分析、判断能力。而这些问题往往也是平时考试中常出现的难度较大的问题。

1、我在阅读课中词汇教学的形式太单一。仅限于拼写，词形变换，做题训练。词汇教学通常都是以教师讲学生听和做笔记的模式。结果就是老师讲得很辛苦，学生抄得辛苦，课后花很多时间去记忆却达不到理想的效果。另外，词汇学习延伸太多，给学生带来巨大灾难。对于初中阶段的学生来说，容易失去英语学习的兴趣和信心。有些学生掌握了这些知识也是付出惨痛代价的，因为花费了太多时间和精力
2、我把阅读课教学变成学生的在老师引导下学生的阅读课。英语课堂教学是培养学生的听、说、读、写能力的最主要重地，缺乏这四种能力培养的课堂教学就不是成功的课堂。“阅读最终是为写作服务的”（Reading is for writing），这句话让我感触很多。我的阅读课多数时候只有学生阅读，没有学生说的训练。今后在设计阅读课时，必须从greeting, lead-in, new words introduction, pre-reading, while-reading 到post-reading的各个环节中都充分考虑到学生的综合能力培养。课堂导入为词汇教学做准备，词汇教学为阅读做准备，阅读教学为写作做准备。环环相扣才能让阅读课达到最终目标—提升学生的写作能力。
3、阅读课教学往往更注重学生对课文structure的理解和构建。这种教学设计的结果就是学生在快速阅读能力和阅读方法上有相对优势，却在细节理解和判断推理上常犯错误。在以后的阅读教学中，在原有的教学模式和方法的基础上，应增加学生对细节的理解和训练。力求让学生既能完整地理解课文，也能就细节知识进行挖掘和推理。只有达到总体和细节的完全统一，才能达到阅读的真正效果。
最后，把阅读课教学跟学生具体实际相结合是课堂教学的最有用最实效的模式，离开了学生实际的一切教学设计和教学践行都是徒劳的。
