1、掌握条件句(Conditional sentences)所表达的含义;
2、学会把主句和从句的位置进行变化;
3、掌握主句和从句的时态。

教学过程:
Stage 1 Warming up
Ask students a question : “How can we talk about possible actions and the the results of these actions ”.
Purpose: Arouse students’ interest and make students know the usages of conditional sentences.
Stage 2 Presentation
Step1. show the students a sentence
If you walk along the Bund, you will see many old buildings.
Analyse the sentence, which part is the if-clause, which part is the main clause. What is their tense Then, change their places.
Purpose:
Make the students know the tenses of the if-clause and the main clause.
Make the students know that we can change the places of the if-clause and the main clause.
Step2.Things to remember
1.Tell the students what they should remember.
2.Give them an example.
Purpose: Cultivate their ability of observation.
Step3.Work out the rule
Ask students to do it by themselves.
Check them.
Purpose: Make students learn to summarize something.
Step 4.Do the exercise 1.
Ask students to read William’s problems.
Ask students to match the half-sentences from the boxes to complete his mother’s advice.
Ask students to check the answers. They can put the main clause after the if-cause , they can also put the the if-clause after the main clause.
Purpose: Make students learn about the if-clause and the main clause clearly.
Step 5.Do the exercise 2.
Teach the students how to do the exercise by picture one and picture two.
Ask students to use the pictures and the words in brackets to finish the blanks .
Purpose: Make students learn to use the conditional sentences.
Stage 3 Summary
Ask students what they have learnt:
1.The places of the if-clause and the main clause.
2.The tenses of the if-clause and the main clause.
Purpose: Make students consolidate what they have learnt.
