My hobby is beekeeping (养蜂)! I started after someone gave my mum some bees as a present. (1) _________Therefore, I decided to do it instead. I had to go on a course first to learn all about it. I’m so glad I did that! I was the only teenager on the course, but I had a great time. I knew immediately that beekeeping was the perfect hobby for me.

Mark is doing a job of taking photos of weather. During his career, he’s taken photos of all kinds of amazing weather. His photos have appeared in many scientific magazines.
Mark has also successfully appeared on TV to discuss storms and global warming. He’s written wonderful articles about our changing weather and is the writer of a very popular blog about extreme weather (极端天气) and several books. So how did Mark begin his career
Mark grew up in Wisconsin in the USA, where storms are common.When he was six, he saw his first typhoon close at hand and he never forgot the experience. A few years later, his mother bought him a camera.Mark was more interested in recording the sounds of weather than taking photographs. He used to spend hours recording sounds outdoors. He did it as a hobby when he was a little boy, but he soon became very interested in extreme weather.
When he was a teenager, he used to read about all kinds of extreme weather events in the newspaper and he sometimes went to the library to look for scientific magazines on different kinds of weather.He even joined an after-school club that organized trips to learn about weather patterns.
Mark studied journalism (新闻学), not photography, at university and began his career as a writer working on local newspapers. He was good at his job and he never regretted that he’d become a journalist, but he kept his childhood interest in storms and when, in his late twenties, he saw an advertisement for a storm-chasing holiday, he joined the group and took his camera with him. Finally, Mark’s photos became so great and he became an artist.
