Look at the poem on the right. It has five lines of text.This style was created in the nineteenth century by an American poet.This kind of poem always talks about a single topic.Each line has a set number of words. The first line has one word.The second line has two words.
The third, or middle line has three words.
The fourth line has four words.
The last line has one word.

Here is how you can write your own five-line poem.
Line 1: In one word, state the topic of your poem. Use a noun.
Line 2: Describe your topic in two words.Use a noun and an adjective or two adjectives.
Line 3: Choose three words that describe what your topic does.
Line 4: Express a thought or a feeling about your topic in four words.You can use any type of words here.
Line 5: Say something about your topic in one word.
Read the text and answer the following questions:

(3)How many words does the fourth line have
(4)Where is your topic in a five-line poem
(5)What can you write in the fourth line

【注意】
用数字表示“某世纪”时, 不要丢掉定冠词the
2.This kind of poem always talks about a single topic.
如果主语是由“限定词+kind/type/sort of+ 名词”构成, 随后的动词形式按以下规则:
(1) 在a kind/sort/type of,this kind/sort/type of 之后通常跟可数名词单数或不可数名词, 动词用单数形式。
(2) 在these kinds of,many/several kinds of 之后, 通常用复数名词或不可数名词, 动词都用复数形式。
【注意】
在这种结构中, 通常不用复数名词。
3.a set number of 一些,一定数量的
与some或several 同义, 后面往往接可数名词复数;
a number of 短语作主语时, 谓语动词往往用复数形式;
句中的set 是过去分词起形容词作用, 意为“固定的, 规定的” ,
修饰后面的名词number。
e.g.Each line has a set number of syllables.

In one word 总而言之
e.g. In one word, I'm too busy to play chess.
state 为动词, 意为“陈述, 说明”。常指书面或演讲中的正式表达, 其名词形式为statement, 意为“陈述”。
e.g.The police report stated that he was arrested for burglary.
