Mike is a friendly and cheerful boy. No one has ever seen him get angry. And he has never
had a fight with anyone. Even his teachers think he is good at controlling his bad feelings. That
makes him so different from other kids at his age.
Mr Anthony, one of Mike's teachers, wondered what Mike's secret to keeping himself calm all the time is, so he asked Mike. Mike didn't answer his question at once. He just invited the teacher to his house.
At first, they just enjoyed some tea and talked about Mike's school life. Then Mike showed Mr Anthony around the house. When Mike opened his bedroom's door, the teacher stood still, and then a big smile spread across his face. On the huge wall was a special collage (拼贴画) with thousands of colours and shapes on it! It was the loveliest collage Mr Anthony had ever seen.
“Many people think nothing makes me angry,” Mike started to explain. “Actually, it's
not true. Just like many other kids, I used to get angry easily. But years ago, with the help of my parents, I started a small collage. When I stuck every little piece on the wall, I added some bad thoughts or acts at the same time.” Mr Anthony looked closely at the collage. In each of the small pieces, he could find some tiny words like “fool”, “pain”, “bored” and thousands of other negative (消极的) things.
“This is how I started turning my bad times into chances of adding to my collage. Now I can't be happier when someone makes me angry, because it gives me a new piece for my work of art,” Mike added.
Since then, Mr Anthony has often recommended it to his students. Now the neighbourhood is called Art Town. Each house has its own wonderful works of art, which are made by those cheerful and optimistic (乐观的) children.

A. By writing down his negative thoughts. B. By reading letters from friends.
