In the fight against
the new coronavirus, Chinese people have come up with many creative ways to
solve different problems. They have shown their wisdom during hard times.
Amazing China speed
In cities like Wuhan
that have large numbers of infected people, more hospital beds are needed. The quickest
way to solve this is to build makeshift hospitals.
On Jan.23 and 25, the
government decided to build Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital in
Wuhan. More than 4, 000 workers worked day and night, and nearly 1, 000 large machines
and transportation helped with the project.
Within less than 15
days, the two hospitals were set up. They provided about 2, 600 beds in total.
The speed shocked many people around the world.
All for masks
During that period,
medical things such as masks are in great need. To increase production (生产), over 3, 000 Chinese factories have transformed their
production lines to make medical things. For example, a factory that used to
make clothes spent 55 hours transforming their production lines and is now able
to make 1, 200 protective medical suits every day. Several car factories in
China have also turned their production lines into mask- making lines.
Sharing workers
The idea of "sharing
workers" became popular during the period. As most people were staying at
home, many workers in restaurants, cinemas and shopping malls had no work and
were not getting paid. However, online everyday and medical things continued to
grow, making the workers from Jingdong, Fresh Hema and other online shops too busy.
As of Feb. 10, over

and Fresh Hema, Xinhua reported.

We study hard in order to get into our dream universities. However, not
every student can do so. Some students' college entrance exam scores are too
low to get them into their ideal school.
The gross enrollment ratio (GER) is used around the world to show how
many students end up in higher education. It is the rate of 18- to 22-year-olds
who can get into university. China wants to achieve a GER of 20 percent, which
means that one in five students would be studying at a university or college.
In the early 1990s, China's GER stood at about 5 percent, lower than many
developed countries. In 2019, the GER reached 51. 6 percent, with over 40
million students studying in colleges and universities, Xinhua reported.
This was not easy. In 1999, the government carried
out a higher education expansion policy (扩招政策)to give more students the
chance to get higher education. Many new measures, including building schools,
hiring teachers and offering money to poor students, were taken.
The GER often has a relationship with higher income levels and better
jobs. For example, service economies often have greater need for people with
higher education, which usually decides over 50 percent of a country's GDP.
33.Where can we possibly read this article
A.In the storybook. B.In the science fiction.
C.In the newspaper. D.In the magazine.
34.According to China's GER, how many students could go to college if a high school had 10, 000 students in the early 1990s
A.200. B.2000. C.500. D.5000.
35.What does the underlined word "This" in Paragraph 4 refer to
A.China's GER stood at about 5 percent.
B.China built schools to give more students the chance to go to college.
C.China offered money to poor students.
D.China's GER reached 51. 6 percent in 2019.
36.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
