Mozart—the Wonder Boy
Do you know Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart The great composer, Mozart, started writing music when he was just a little boy. Here’s a story about Mozart when he was a child.
Father Mozart used to give his daughter, Nannerl, music lessons on the piano. And little Wolfgang Mozart was in the room. He watched and listened to every note his sister played. One day, when her lesson was over, he asked, “May I have a lesson, Papa ”
“You are too little!” said Father Mozart.
When Father Mozart and Nannerl left the room, little Wolfgang went up to the piano and pressed the keys. He smiled. The music sounded beautiful. Father Mozart heard him and came to see him. Wolfgang was playing well without any help. Father Mozart decided to give his little boy piano lessons.
Soon Wolfgang played as well as his big sister, Nannerl. He learned so quickly that his father was very happy. But when Wolfgang started to write music by himself, Father Mozart was surprised. No one could believe that a little boy of five could write such beautiful music. He was an amazing child, a born musician.

as … as 和……一样
as+形容词/副词+as,是形容词/副词的同级比较结构,其中前面的as是副词,意为“同样地”,后面的as是连词,意为“像...一样”
Eg: 露西和丽莉一样高。Lucy is as tall as Lily.我和汤姆去学校一样早。I go to school as early as Tom.
3. He learned so quickly that his father was very happy.
他学得那么快以致他父亲十分高兴。①so… that和 such… that都作“如此…以致”解,都用来引导结果状语从句.
so...that结构中的so为副词,后面跟形容词或副词;such...that中的such为形容词,后面接名词(名词前可以有形容词或副词修饰)。
常见句型如下:so +形容词/副词+ that;such十 a/ an(形容词)+名词 十 that从句
He became so angry that he couldn't speak.
他变得很生气,以致说不出话来。
It was such a fine day that we went out for a walk.
那是一个很晴朗的日子,我们出去散步。
② such… that和 so… that有时可以换用,条件是 such所修饰的名词必须是一个单数可数名词,且该名词前还带有表性质的形容词.转变公式如下:
such a/an 十形容词十名词
so 十形容词十 a/an十名词.
例:He is such a good student that we all like him. He is so good a student that we all like him.
但是如果是不可数名词或复数可数名词,则只能用 such而不能用 so修饰.如:It was such bad weather that he had to stay at home.
③如果复数名词前有 many、few,不可数名词前有 much、little等表示量的形容词时,该用 so而不用 such.
如:There was so much noise outside that we couldn’t hear the teacher.外面嘈杂声很大,以致我们不能听到老师的话。
但 little不表示数量而表示“小”的意思时,仍用 such.如:It is such a little sheep that it can’t run fast.它是一只小绵羊,它不能够跑得快。
so…that与 so thatso that既可以引导目的状语从句,常与may, can, will等连用,表示“以便,为了”;还可以引导结果状语从句,有“因此,所以”的意思。
如:
They got up early so that they could catch the first bus.
他们早起是为了赶上第一班交通车。(目的)He spoke clearly so that everybody understood him.
他讲得清楚所以大家能听懂他。(结果)
