One Possible Version:
Dear Zhao Yuan,
I hear that you are going to an American friend's party. I'm glad to give you some advice about Western table manners.
If you go to a party in your friend's house in America, you can be a few minutes late. But you'd better take a present. Some flowers are always nice. Western people like eating quietly, so don't talk loudly while eating. It's polite to eat up all the food on your plate. After finishing eating, don't leave at once. You should have a chat with the host before leaving. Remember to say thanks to the host before leaving.
Yours,
Wang Meng
