When I think of the word “perfect”, I think of something only a few can achieve, like high beauty standards, the super-smart girl in my class, or anything that I can compare myself to. For a few weeks now, I have been noticing this one girl who is in some of my middle school classes. She has long dark brown hair, big eyes, and the most beautiful face. She always wears the prettiest clothes and seems to be the most popular girl in school. It seems like she has a perfect life, lots of friends, all A's, and everything anyone could ever want.
One day, I was in language arts talking to my teacher about one of the upcoming tests, when I saw the girl staring at me in a strange way. I immediately started to think, “Why is she looking at me Did I do something wrong Is my hair messed up ” When the class was dismissed and everyone was rushing to their next class, she caught up to me and said, “I just thought you should know, I think you are really pretty.” I replied, “Oh my god, thank you!” I then watched her as she walked away and thought, “She thinks I am pretty ”
The whole day, I ended up thinking about one thing. That was, “Why does she think that ” After thinking about that topic in my head through each second of the day, I came to learn one big lesson. I learned that everyone has their own insecurities (不自信) even though it may not seem like it on the outside. In this case, I was thinking that she was everything I wanted to be and she thought the same of me. Both of us are not perfect. When I really look at myself, not from my point of view but a fresh one, I see a beautiful, smart, kind girl who is unique. I think that being able to fully love yourself is the true meaning of the word “perfect”.
15.Why has the author been noticing the girl for several weeks
A.The girl is perfect in her eyes.
B.The girl is from a wealthy family.
C.She's curious about the girl's behavior.
D.She wants to make friends with the girl.
16.How did the author feel when the girl was staring at her
A.Very proud. B.Rather annoyed.
C.A bit awkward. D.More than glad.
17.What did the author do for the rest of that day
A.She asked around about the girl.
B.She thought about the girl's words carefully.
C.She went to the girl and asked her a few questions.
D.She busied herself with the preparations for the upcoming tests.
18.What's the best title for the text
A.The perfect girl I've ever known
B.The friendship between two girls
C.How I learned the word “perfect” in middle school
D.How a girl should behave in middle school

  答案:
Dear Alice,
How time flies! I have been in senior high school for a whole month. At the beginning of this term, I felt quite lonely. But now I have made some new friends and I have got used to my new life here. I miss all the teachers and classmates in junior middle school. At the same time, I get along well with my new classmates. The teachers here are very humorous and I like them very much. I will make good use of my time because it is my dream to go to a good university after three years' hard work.
