教学设计(第1课时)
一、教学目标
1. 掌握本单元的重点词汇和短语,如:on one's own, manage, operation 等。
2. 理解课文内容,了解主人公的经历和成就。
3. 学习并能运用“so”引导的结果状语从句。
二、教学重难点
重点:1. 词汇和短语的理解与运用。
课文内容的理解。
“so”引导的结果状语从句的结构和用法。
难点:1. 理解文中长难句的结构和含义。
运用“so”引导的结果状语从句进行表达。

任务型教学法、情景教学法、讲授法
四、教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show videos of doctors working, and then ask: "What do you think of the work of doctors " "Do you know any famous doctors and their stories "
2. Guide students to think about the importance and difficulties of the doctor's work to pave the way for introducing the text.
Step 2 Vocabulary Learning
1. Present the new words and phrases.
2. Let students follow and read the words and phrases to correct the pronunciation.
3. Do some vocabulary exercises.
Step 3 Text Understanding
1. Ask students to browse the text quickly and answer some simple questions:
Who is the passage about What was his job
2. Let them read the text carefully again and complete the following tasks:
(1)Find the sentences that describe the difficulties in the text.
(2)Understand how the protagonist overcame the difficulties.
(3)Answer some detailed questions:
Where did he work How many operations did he do
3. Explain the long and difficult sentences in the text to help students understand the sentence structure and meaning.
Step 4 Grammar Learning
1. Guide students to find the result adverbial clauses led by "so" in the text.
2. Explain the structure and usage of the result adverbial clause led by "so".
(1)Give examples to illustrate: "He was very tired, so he went to bed early." "It was raining hard, so we stayed at home."
(2)Let students imitate the example sentences and make sentences with "so".
Step 5 Group Discussion
1. Divide students into groups and discuss the following questions:
(1)What can we learn from the story
(2)Do you think it's important to help others Why
2. Each group appoints a representative to share the discussion results, and other groups can supplement and ask questions.
Step 6 Summary
1. Review the vocabulary, phrases and the result adverbial clause led by "so" learned in this class.
2. Summarize the main content of the text and the spiritual qualities of the protagonist.
Step 7 Homework
1. Recite the key vocabulary and phrases.
2. Write three sentences with the result adverbial clause led by "so".
3. Preview the content of the next class.

Step 1 Revision and Lead-in

1. Give students a few minutes to prepare and then ask them to retell the text content.
