The Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) in Mexico attracts lots of tourists from different countries every year because it always holds a very popular public art show every year. What’s more, it’s the largest museum of its kind in the world.
People built the museum in 2009 and it opened to tourists one year later. It’s not like a traditional museum, and it’s an environmental one to protect sea life. There are over 500 different sculptures ( 雕塑) in MUSA．These sculptures changed as they became the home to sea life.
There are three galleries (艺术长廊) in MUSA．The Machones Gallery is about 8 meters deep with around 470 sculptures. The Punta Nizuc Gallery is about 4 meters deep with 33 sculptures. It is close to most of the hotels. There’s also a third gallery called the Punta Sam Gallery. And it’s as deep as the Punta Nizuc Gallery.
Visitors can enjoy the art show and get close to local sea life when they swim or dive (潜水) around the museum. If you don’t want to get wet, you can still visit the underwater museum—just buy a ticket of a glass boat tour. If you get there, you will have a great time.
