Dear Alex,
I'm glad to receive your letter. When it comes to the fine qualities a good friend should have,I'd like to express my opinion.
First of all,a good friend should be honest, which is the most important.Honesty is where good friendship starts.Secondly,a good friend should respect others, including their space and personal items. What's more,he or she must learn to forgive others. After all, anyone can make mistakes.
Would you like to share your idea about this topic I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,

We appreciated it so much that we got a free gift from the kind stand owner. What's the most impressive is that Robby passed on the kindness to a homeless man too.We never know what happiness a simple act of kindness will bring.By giving,we also teach others how to give.Remember: The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose.

It is said that most people have no more than 30 friends at any given time, and 400 over the whole of their lives. However,on social networking sites, most users have about 150 friends. If these numbers are correct, then friendship means different things in different situations.
Also, there are no rules about friendship. There is no instruction in making friends, maintaining friendship, and finishing friendship if we want to move on.People have very different opinions about this: some people would die for their friends and they value them more than families.Others say that friends are temporary(暂时的),and only there to help each other until they are no longer needed. If people with those different views become friends, this can lead to problems.
Because of these different definitions(定义) of friendship,it is easy to be unhappy about our friendship. We may want it to be deeper or closer,or we may want to acquire more friends in our lives.Sometimes we simply do not have the time to develop our friendship,or we fear we have left it too late in life to start. If we move to another country or city,we have to find ways to make new friends again.
This dissatisfaction(不满) shows us how significant friendship is for most of us.We should not think that it could be too late to build friendship. We also need to understand that the need to be around other people is one that is shared by most people. Therefore,we should not be too frightened of starting to talk to people who in the future may become our friends: it is likely that they would like to get closer to us too.Remember what people say: strangers are friends we have not met yet.

Everyone needs friends. There is an old saying,“Friends are taking care of us.” But how do you find real friendship and keep it
The American writer Sally Seamans tells young students some smart ways to make friends.Sally says finding friendship is just like planting a tree. You plant the seed(种子) and take care of it to make it grow.
First, you should choose a friend. What makes a good friend It is not because a person has money or good looks.A good friend should be kind and patient(耐心).For example,if you have a bad day,a good friend should listen to your complaints and do his or her best to help you.To make a good friend, you cannot be too shy.You should make each other happy and share your lives.
But things cannot always be happy.Even the best friends have fights. What should you do when you have a fight with your friend You have to talk to him or her. When there is no one around, have an honest talk.If he or she doesn't want to talk, you could write a letter.
There are three steps to being friends again:
Tell him or her how you are feeling; say what your friend has done wrong, and explain why you did this or that.Remember that friendship is the most important thing in your life.

D
Some people say that friendship is the only channel through which human beings can ever experience the value of life.In our daily life,it is likely that you share some common interests with others—they may like the same sport,go to the same school or like the same kind of music as you do.Since you often meet them, they become your acquaintances(相识的人).Although some people develop many acquaintances, only a few become their good friends in their lifetime because there are differences between acquaintances and friends.
It is said that true friendship begins when someone knows what you are really like, but still likes you anyway.A true friend shows loyalty(忠诚) from the very beginning of the relationship.A friend will go through challenges to help you without expecting anything in return.A “friend” today may probably become a “true friend” tomorrow when they get involved in unexpected circumstances(条件) together with you—for example, when you are going through a difficult experience and your friend is there to help you out. However, some acquaintances might leave you when you badly need their help.At this time, you can experience what true friendship is.
In our life, some people seem to go through life with plenty of friends. They may be funny or they may have a bright and pleasant personality. For these people, wherever they go,people seem to like them and welcome their company. But when they go through challenging life experiences, some of their friends are not there to help them. Therefore,we can say some of their friends are not real friends and their friendship is just skin-deep.
However, others seem to go through life with no friends at all. They like to be alone,to travel by themselves or to do their own things. It's a pity that few of these people find success in life because they have no friends. They lack the best gift in life—friendship.
【语篇解读】 本文是一篇议论文。有人说友谊是人类体验生命价值的唯一途径。虽然有些人结交了很多熟人,但只有少数人成了他们一生的好朋友,因为熟人和朋友之间是有区别的。

A.You seldom meet them in your life.
B.Not all of them can become your friends.
C.They are sure to become your good friends.
D.They have all of the same interests as you do.

Dear fellow students,
I'm honoured to have the chance to make a speech. From my point of view, the following may be helpful to maintain friendship.
To begin with,we should be honest with our friends.Lies will surely make them stay far away from us.Second,we should become good listeners as well so that we can have a good understanding of our friends.Third,we ought to be supportive whenever our friends are in trouble, for a friend in need is a friend indeed.
That's all.Thank you for your listening.
第二节

I was lacking in everything needed to start a new friendship.
My parents moved to the town when they decided to look for new jobs, but they didn't realise I was really hurt when I said goodbye to my old friends. It felt awful to be a new student in the school, because when my classmates were chatting, what I could do was be caught up in my thoughts watching the clouds outside the window.I was not good at math or history, nor was I good at drawing or dancing.I was shy and timid(胆怯的).I had a few friends in my hometown and it seemed that they were the only ones who I could be friends with for my whole life.I felt I had reached a point where I could make no further addition to my friend list.I was ashamed of myself,so I believed I deserved no notice from others until Emily came to my world.
Emily was fearless, outspoken and easy to get along with, while I was too shy to come out of my shell.I met Emily in the school almost every day and yet I never talked to her.We were in the same class but we were poles apart(截然相反).How I wished I could be like her or at least be a friend of hers!
It was another ordinary day.I wandered to the bus stop in the morning and waited for the school bus.Birds were singing songs with their friends but who could I sing songs with?I got on the bus and went straight to my usual seat, complaining in a low voice about getting up early and going to school, and about how things were going to be the same all over again.Little did I realise something different would happen that day.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

When I got up to get off the bus,my schoolbag was stuck in the armrest.I didn't notice it and stood up with all my strength.Unluckily,my schoolbag was torn apart and all the things fell to the ground.I knelt down to pick them up.Suddenly,I saw a hand passing me some of the books.I looked up and found it was Emily who was helping me.With her help,I put all the things back to my schoolbag.I began to talk with her and was surprised to find that we had much in common.
I got noticed by Emily, who gave me courage to start a new friendship! One day when I told her that I admired her and how I wished to be a friend of hers, she said,“We have already been friends!” I felt so happy that I even sang a song.Hearing my song, she thought highly of it and asked me to teach her to sing it.She made me realise how unique I was and at last I came out of my shell.
