Step 1 Revision
1. Free talking: How to learn English well

1) ask for 要……
① ask sb. for…要求某人给某物
e.g. He asked his teacher for help.
② ask sb. to do sth. 要求某人做某事
e.g. The teacher asks Tom to come earlier.
【拓展】由advice构成的常见短语:

give sb. advice 给某人提出建议

在本句中,watching English films和listening to English songs并列做动词like 的宾语。例如:

advise v. 建议
advise sb. about/on sth. 就某事向某人提出建议
advise sb. (not) to do sth. 建议某人(不要)做某事
advise doing sth. 建议做某事
辨析:advice/advise
advice与advise都可表示“建议”, 但它们的用法有所区别。
advice用作不可数名词。... piece(s) of advice意为“……条建议”,ask for advice意为“寻求建议”。如:
Mr Wang gave me a piece of advice on how to get on well with others.
Now I want to ask for some advice about speaking English well.
advise用作动词。后面可跟名词、代词或动词-ing形式作宾语,常用于advise sb. (not) to do sth.结构中,意为“建议某人(不)做某事”。如:
I want you to advise my sister / her.
Jack advised reading a lot of English magazines.
My friends advised me to go to that concert.

4. I suggest you write four or five words a day on pieces of paper and place them in your room.
suggest v.“建议”, 常用suggest (that) sb. (should) do sth.
e.g. He suggested (that) we _________ for a walk.
他建议我们去散散步。
suggest doing sth. “建议做某事”
e.g. It there’s a problem, we suggest calling the police for help.
如果有问题, 我们建议打电话找警察求助。
advise & suggest
(1) 相同用法
◆advise / suggest doing sth. “建议做某事”。
◆都可接that从句,从句中谓语多由“should+动词原形”构成或用动词原形,that可以省略。
(2) 不同用法
◆ advise sb. (not) to do sth “建议某人(不)做某事”。
◆suggest后不能接动词不定式。

时态:一般现在时和一般将来时
人称:向对方提建议用第二人称
写作时,可运用本模块所学的“We should…”“It’s a good idea to…”“Why don’t we… ”等提建议的句型,结合英语学习的基本规律和个人体会,给出行之有效的建议。
在衔接几条建议时可以使用表示并列关系的衔接词,如:first, next, also;在表达结果时可以使用衔接词,如:then, in this way。
