Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show some short videos related to teenagers being home alone on the screen. Point to specific details in the scenes in the videos and ask: "Have you ever had such an experience of being home alone How did you feel at that time "
2. Guide students to actively share their unique experiences and profound feelings of being home alone. Encourage them to describe specific situations and emotions.
Step 2 Vocabulary Learning
1. Present the key vocabulary through multimedia.
2.Let students follow and read the words aloud several times, emphasizing correct pronunciation. Then, conduct exercises to reinforce memory and understanding.
Step 3 Pre-reading
1. Ask students to carefully observe the title and accompanying pictures of the text. Prompt them to make predictions based on these elements and share their initial thoughts and expectations in a group setting.
2.Raise a series of guiding questions to stimulate students' thinking and anticipation: "What possible challenges or adventures might the person face when home alone Do you think it will be a funny or serious story "
Step 4 Reading Practice

2. For the detailed reading, present a set of carefully designed tasks:true or false questions, multiple-choice questions, and specific question-answering exercises.

Step 5 Group Discussion
1. Organize students into small groups and provide them with a set of in-depth discussion questions related to the text: "Why did the writer become bored What were the underlying reasons and contributing factors " "If you were in the same situation as the writer, what alternative activities or coping strategies might you employ "
2. Each group is encouraged to have a detailed and comprehensive discussion. Members should share their individual perspectives, listen attentively to others, and jointly explore possible answers and solutions. One member is designated to record the key points and conclusions of the group's discussion.
3. Select a representative from each group to present their group's discussion results to the entire class. Other groups are given the opportunity to ask questions, provide additional insights, or offer different viewpoints.
Step 6 Summary
1. Review the key vocabulary and phrases learned in this class one by one. Use visual aids, interactive recall exercises to reinforce students' memory.
2.Summarize the main content and structure of the text. Highlight the key events, character developments, and overall storyline. Illustrate how the various elements are interwoven to form a coherent narrative.
Step 7 Homework

Step 1 Revision and Lead-in
