命题作文是依据所给题目，确定中心，选择材料，写出符合题意，内容表达具体、充分的文章。云南近几年对命题作文的考查一直较为稳定，文体偏向记叙文，或夹叙夹议的文章。
半命题作文是指命题人限定了作文题目的一部分内容，然后留出一部分内容由作者根据提示、结合对题目的理解补全标题，再进行写作的形式。这种作文形式的主要标志是作文题目中留有空缺。其特点是有较大的开放度、灵活性，给学生留下广阔的创作空间，又有一定的限制性。半命题作文补全标题后构成命题作文。
针对云南书面表达命题特点，写作时，可从以下几方面做起：
1．写作前
(1)仔细审题。考生在写作之前首先要理清题目的要求，根据所给提示和题目，确定要写的题材、话题、格式和情景及行文内容等。
(2)准备写作。考生在写作之前先列提纲，写出文章的大致要点，并核对提示和要求，看是否有遗漏或需要增补的要点。2．写作中
根据提纲要点，逐一遣好词、造好句。
(1)要用最熟悉的、最有把握的词汇和基本句型；语言表达要流畅，符合英美人士的表达习惯，避免中式英语。
(2)注意英汉语法方面的差异、词的形式变化；还要注意全文在人称、时态、语态方面的一致性和正确运用。如果在写作中遇到不会的单词、词组和句子，可以找同义词(组)和同义句来代替。
(3)用连词成句的方法将要点中的英文词语扩展成句子，然后再用连词成文的方法来组织语言，形成短文。
(4)书写要工整、规范，保持卷面整洁。
3．写作后
通读全文，检查复核。在写好短文后，从题目要求上要对全文进行检查和修改。要注意词数是否符合；体裁、格式是否正确；内容要点是否全面；语言表达上是否有错误，大到主谓一致、时态呼应、习惯用法，小至单词拼写、大小写及标点符号，都不可以放过。谢谢观看！
