(3)全体学生能朗读课文,阅读相关短文。 (4)全体学生能按要求完成语句书写。 2、语言知识 (1)全体学生能运用“There’s Chinese dancing.”这类语句,描述一个地方的特征。 ( 2 ) 全体学生能理解词汇:dancing , Chinatown, sometimes, shop, then. 全体学生能运用词汇:sometimes, shop, then. 部分学生能运用词汇:dancing, Chinatown 3、情感态度 乐于接触外国文化,增强祖国意识。 4、学习策略 注意观察生活或媒体中使用的简单英语,关注对中国文化的介绍。 5、文化意识 大致了解海外的唐人街,它不仅仅是一个居住区,而是一个中国文化的中心,一个真正的家乡味道,培养学生爱家乡,爱国情感。
教学重难点
教学重点: (1) 1.Learn new words, such as Chinatown, dancing, sometimes, then… (2) 2.Learn the key sentence pattern ---- There be… (There is/are) 教学难点: (1) 1.Understand and correctly use the sentence pattern there be. (2) 2.Use the target language to describe or introduce a place properly.
教学过程
Step 1: Warm-up and lead-in. 1.Greetings. 2、Enjoy a song and answer the question:What’s it about Teacher introduces the theme of the class: Chinatown. Purpose of design: (1) make students interested in today’s class. (2) let students have a general understanding of Chinatown. Step 2: Task Presentation 1.Look, listen and say. Teacher will play the video of M2 U1-1 and ask students questions, in order to help students get familiar with the text and the sentence pattern “there be”. T: Simon and Daming are watching TV on the sofa. They are also talking about Chinatown.Please watch the video and answer.Where is Chinatown Teach: Chinatown China + town 唐人街,中国城 中国 城镇 Introduce Chinatown 情感升华:在中国城,离开故乡的华人可以品尝到故乡的美食,重温故乡的风土人情,中国城承载着太多海外华人的记忆和情感,也连接着华人的心灵和归属感。唐人街的繁华也充分证明了中国人的勤劳、智慧、伟大.Our country is stronger,We are proud of being Chinese. Step 3: Text learning 1、Look at the picture of Part Two and feel the situation. (show PPT) 2、Watch the CD-ROM and answer the question. (show PPT) What is Daming doing He is sending an email to his family in China. Does Daming miss his family Yes, sometimes. What will Simon do for Daming He will take Daming to Chinatown. 3、Read the text and answer the questions.(show PPT) Where is Chinatown Can you tell me more about Chinatown 4、Answer the questions and learn the new words.(shop, dancing,then) (show PPT) 5、Sum up the grammar of “there be”. (show PPT) 6.Try to remember the Tree Map below: Step 4:Practice:用there be句型进一步介绍唐人街: Do the exercise of the text first. Let students write down the sentence by using “there be”, tell his/her classmate their answers. Purpose of design: (1) to lay the foundation of later activity. (2) students will be familiar with the sentence pattern, therefore, they can use target vocabularies and expressions to talk with each other, through which will build their confidence of learning. Step 5: Task completion In this part, teacher gives an example of a volunteer to encourage students to describe their hometown on their own. 情感升华:Wow!So great! East or west,home is the best.We should love our hometown and love our country. Purpose of design: (1) make students understand new words by videos and clear explanations. (2) teach the text with the task-based method (asking questions) and instant feedback (answering simple questions) Step 6: Summary and homework. Summary:Summarize what students have learned in today’s class.
