What's the saddest moment you can think about in your life right now I know mine. That day was one of the saddest days of my life. It was a Sunday in the year of 2020. I arrived at my class that morning. As soon as I walked in, the mood immediately felt depressing and uncomfortable. I knew exactly why the mood felt this way. The classmates around me were controlling their sadness. Today was the day when our head teacher would leave and move to another school. Mr. Smith was finally leaving our school after five years teaching here.

Mr. Smith was an extremely likable guy. He was very easy to talk with and to have fun with. He was cool, relaxed, and was always friendly when you would see him. He watched us grow up. He taught us knowledge and to love others. I couldn't even imagine how things were going to be without him. These thoughts flooded my mind, and I became discouraged.

“Hey, are you alright ” My friend interrupted my thinking.
“Yeah, I'm alright. I'm just kind of sad that Mr. Smith's leaving,” I replied.
“Yeah, me too. I had so many good times with him when I was younger.”
“I wish he were our teacher forever,” as I sighed, all happy moments flooded my mind.
“Hey, can you stop talking please ” my deskmate politely asked.
My friend quickly leaned back to his spot, and I began to think again.
“Thank you everyone for my times here. I will forever keep these memories and friend-ships I've made in the past five years.” He took a deep breath and announced, “As a gift for my leaving, please look under your seats.”
Confused, I slowly checked under my seat to see a yellow block of wood that read “LOVE” on it. I quickly grabbed it and began to study it. After seconds of analyzing this strange rectangle, I realized that it was a Jenga block (积木块).

The Jenga block was freshly painted bright yellow. I immediately felt sadness and I began to tear up. I glanced over to my friend to see him crying and noticed that his Jenga block was very different from mine. Curiosity quickly became my objective as I looked around me to see that everyone's Jenga block was different. Some had different designs, colors, pat-terms, but all had the word “LOVE” written in some way. “This is a reminder to always love others,” Mr. Smith said slowly.

The more I grew up, the more I understood why loving others was so important. I've gotten most of my friends this way and people respect me more as a person. To this day, the Jenga block sits on the top of my computer desk as a reminder to love others.
