Passive Voice
What is it
It is a structure that serves to highlight the subject that performs the action. In other words, the person or object becomes the protagonist of the sentence and the one who performs the action.
In an active voice sentence, a subject does an action that affects an object:
The boy watches the stars
My mon waters the flowers.

Examples
When we are NOT interested in who did a certain action
When we do NOT know the person who performed the action
We use the passive, when we are interested in WHAT happened or happens to people or objects.
