The success of descriptive writing lies in the details.
How
There are two major ways to make detailed descriptions — using dialogues
and using five senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell).
The main purpose of descriptive writing is to describe a person, place or
thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader’s mind.

My visit to the Shanghai Science Museum left a deep impression on me and aroused my interest in science.
The items on display were fascinating. There were several high quality exhibitions in the museum. The one that attracted my attention was about the history of science. Many prestigious scientists and their
unparalleled scientific achievements were illustrated both in words and pictures. Although the exhibition
were crowded with hundreds of people, I made my way to appreciate the exhibits and read the captions for more information. Through close reading, I learned much about the history of science and decided to search for more materials later.
Besides, there are lots of collections for visitors to enjoy. The exhibition about the magnificent universe,
for instance, put a series of HD pictures taken by spacecraft on display. With the audio illustration, I found
those pictures easy to understand and grew more curiosity about the universe. The scientific knowledge that once seemed so complicated was no longer hard to understand.
I spent my whole day in the museum and I would like to visit the museum for a second time in my summer vacation.
