In the 13th century. Marco Polo the world known Italian travelled saw many wonderful things in China. One of the things he discovered was money made of paper. People in the West did not have such kind of money until the I5th century. However the Chinese began to use it in the 7th century
Paper was invented by a Chinese man called Cai Lun almost 2,000 years ago. But it was not made in Europe until the year I 100. Four hundred years later, a German discovered that he could make the best paper from trees. After that countries rich in forests, such as Canada Sweden. America. Finland became the most important ones in paper making
Paper can be used in many ways. The common uses include newspapers magazines and books. But do you know that paper can be used for keeping warm In Finland. the farmers wear paper boots to keep their feet warm in the snow. And even houses can be insulated(使绝缘)from heat or cold with paper.
However. we have to understand that paper still comes from trees now. If we keep on wasting so much paper, there will not be any trees left on the earth some day in the near future. Every day people throw away about 2, 800 tons of paper in our city. It takes 17 trees to make one ton of paper. This means that we are cutting down nearly 48.000 trees every day. The fact is that it takes more than 10 years for a tree to grow.
So we must start saving paper right now. We can use both sides of every piece of paper. We can make useful things out of used paper. We can use china cups instead of paper ones. When shopping, we can use fewer paper bags and reuse them if we have some
In short, we should keep a balance (平衡)between using paper and protecting trees, and do it now before it is too late.

C.In the 7th centurn D.In the 15th century

No technology is perfect; each innovation (创新) has advantages and disadvantages, as the following two examples show.
Many people predict that we’ll be able to take to the skies in our own personal flying car. This technology would allow total freedom of movement. We could fly at 480 km per hour, avoiding traffic lights and busy roads. However, some believe there will be problems with traffic control. If the cars become popular, there is likely to be air traffic congestion (拥堵). And what if the cars break down
Also imagine having your own Iron Man (钢铁侠) suit. Several companies are trying to build a practical robot exoskeleton (外骨骼). This is an electronic suit with robot arms and legs which follows the wearer’s movements. It allows you to lift heavy objects, walk long distances and even punch (穿洞) through walls! It will be of great help for armies, rescue workers and disabled people. The suit might help people walk again after disease or harm. However, one disadvantage at present is the cost. Even a simple exoskeleton can cost hundreds of thousands of pounds. Another problem is that a heavy suit like this needs a lot of power but battery life is short. These problems will no doubt be solved as lightweight plastic suits become available.
Looking ahead, it’s not difficult to imagine a future when we will be able to fly to work, or lift a car above our heads. Although there are some problems to solve before all of these are possible, we can certainly dream of a world where technology makes life easier and safer for millions of people.
32.The underlined word “It” probably refers to “_______”.
A.the robot exoskeleton B.the wearer’s movement
C.the electronic Iron Man suit D.the robot with arms and legs
33.The writer is sure that the robot exoskeleton will become more _________ in the future.
A.uncomfortable B.expensive C.available D.impossible
34.Which of the following shows the medical use of robot suits
A.It allows the wearers to lift heavy things easily.
B.It might help the wearer to walk long distances.
C.It might be able to help disabled people walk again.
D.It makes it possible for the wearers to punch through walls.
35.The writer takes the flying car and the robot exoskeleton as examples to _________.
A.offer readers the latest information about development of new technology
B.show it’s impossible to put these two kinds of technology to practical use
C.lead readers to buy the products of new technology as soon as possible

Why do we need to throw less away? There are two reasons. One is that some resources(资源)can't be found any more. That means there is only a certain amount of that resource in the world. 36 When we use up all the oil in the world, there will be no more.
