My plan mainly focuses on preparations before the fire . First, be sure to gather the following items to ensure your basic comfort and well-being, including a flashlight, a filter mask and moist towels . Second, you’d better be familiar with the evacuation routes of all the buildings in your school, whether it is in the dormitory or the teaching building. Third, you should enrich your knowledge of fire prevention , for

一、教学设计与说明
1. 教学目标
本课核心目标为能整合本单元各语篇中的相 关信息,对比各种不同自然灾害的应对措施;能根据具体情况制定个性化的灾难应急预案, 培养学生灾难防护与自救意识。
2. 设计思路
本课为本单元的第 6 课时,旨在引导学生归纳单元内已涉及的五种常见灾害的防护措 施,并通过小组讨论,制定灾害个人应急预案,培养灾难防护与自救意识。首先,教师带 领学生回顾在地震前中后所需采取的防护与自救措施。之后,要求学生小组讨论并完成表 中其他四种灾难的防护与自救措施。此后,要求学生结合 Javier Ramon Brito 的计划制定 策略,从灾前、灾中、灾后三个角度制定学校火灾预案。最后,教师通过自救与他救的角 度,引导学生阅读 Culture Link ,感受中国国际救援队的风采,思考他们工作的价值与意 义。

梳理所学知识,结合个人实际情况制定灾害应急预案。

By the end of this period, students are expected to:

I. Interactive activity 1: Reviewing what students have learned in this unit
*T: Remind students of what they have learned in different sections of this unit. *Ss: Review what they have learned in Reading A, Listening, Viewing and Reading B. Purpose: To establish connections between old and new knowledge by reviewing what they have learned.
Guided question:
What have we learned in Reading A, Listening, Viewing and Reading B
II. Interactive activity 2: Summarizing measures to be taken before, during and after different disasters
*T: Guide students to summarize measures to be taken before, during and after the earthquake by showing an example.
*Ss: Work in a group of four and summarize measures to be taken before, during and after other disasters.
Purpose: To let students know clarifying measures to be taken is helpful when making a preparedness plan.
Guided questions:
1. What are measures to be taken before the earthquake based on what we have learned in the Vocabulary section
2. What are measures to be taken during and after the earthquake based on what we have learned in the Viewing section

III. Interactive activity 3: Creating an emergency plan on a school fire
*T: Provoke students to think about how to create an emergency plan on a school fire. *Ss: Read the three tips from Javier Ramon Brito on how to make a perfect plan; create an emergency plan by analyzing and summarizing measures to be taken before, during and after a fire; share the plan in the group. Purpose: To guide students put what they have learned to use.
Guided questions:
1. What’s your understanding of these three tips
2. What are the measures to be taken before, during and after a fire
IV. Interactive activity 4: Reading the Culture Link and thinking about the value of the work of CISAR
*T: Ask students about the mission of CISAR and guide students to think deeply about the value of the work. *Ss: Read the Culture Link and answer the questions. Purpose: To provoke students to think deeply about the topic Disaster Survival.
Guided questions:
1. When did CISAR found What did CISAR do

CISAR was founded on 27 April 2001. It has completed a lot of missions, such as post-disaster search and rescue operations. In 2015 it sent experts to Nepal after the 8. 1-magnitude earthquake that occurred there.
