Moral education : (1).To guide Ss to appreciate the helpful spirit of the driver and the passengers. (2).To enable Ss to understand the idea of “Helping others is helping yourself.”
教学内容
Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching materials: The topic of this unit is health and first aid. The function is to talk about health problems, accidents and giving advice. And the grammar is about moral verbs should/shouldn’t. So this unit is related to Unit 6 of Book 1 and Unit2 of Book 4. And the grammar is related to Unit 4 of Book 4. The topic and the theme of this unit is similar to the famous movie Big Hero. So I’ll overall teaching this unit. I divide the unit into 4 lessons. Period 1 includes SA 1a-2d. It is about combining, learning and understanding the contents, Period 2 and Period 3 are both reading lessons. They are about the application and practice, Period 4 is a revision lesson. It is about comprehensive application and knowledge transfer. I’ll set up the big situation of this unit for Ss to learn to be a super hero like Baymax(the Robot Nurse of this movie Big Hero)to help , care for , or even save others. The robot nurse Baymax will be a main line goes through the 4 classes of this unit. This lesson is the second lesson of this unit. It is a reading passage. It is also a link to connect “Section A 1a-2d( illnesses)” with “Section B( first aids)”. The topic of this lesson is “helping others”. It’s the same as the topic of Unit 2. So we can help Ss to receive such moral education in these two units. The task of this lesson is to get some basic knowledge about a piece of news, to learn some words and useful expressions, to receive some moral education. The content of the lesson is related closely to students' real life, so I’ll set up situation for Ss to use simple English to communicate and exchange the ideas. I will change 3b and 3c, and I’ll guide Ss to have further thinking while reading . Important points: 1.To enable the Ss to get some knowledge about the news and summarize the mind map of news. 2.To improve the students reading ability and writing ability by using the correct strategies. 3.To enable Ss to use the phrases and sentence patterns of the passage to express one’s ideas. Difficult points: 1.To enable Ss to use the phrases and sentence patterns of the passage to express one’s ideas. 2.To improve the students reading ability and writing ability by using the correct strategies. Ⅱ. Analysis of the students: The students are in Grade 8. They are still at an age that would like to have competition with others.So I will divide the Ss into 4 groups to have competitions. The monitor will write down the marks and show the result to me at the end of each class. Besides, they watch CCTV news on school nights. So they have known something about the news about accidents and first aids. But some long sentences are difficult for them to understand. So I will help the students in different levels to learn English. According to the educational psychology theory, if students have great interests in study, they will get rid of all sorts of subjective and objective negative factors, try their best to study whole- heartedly. This lesson plans to present the text through some activities, such as talking about the pictures and title, completing a mind map, watching a video and so on. In this way, I hope to arouse the Ss’ interest and attention. Ⅲ. Analysis of the teaching theories and methods: When I deal with this lesson. I will take the students as the host and the teacher subordinate. I’ll carry out Task-based Teaching Strategy, Cooperative Teaching Strategy and Situational Teaching Strategy. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language. Guide students to learn by using, learn for using. For example, I’ll use some reading methods such as preparation for reading, scanning, skimming and further reading. In class, I’ll try to use encouraging and polite remarks to encourage my students. I’ll get the students to have a competition to develop their quick response(The monitor will write down the marks during the class and declare the result at the end of the class). I’ll make full use of modern equipment such as the multi-media to make the class more lively and interesting. Ⅳ. Analysis of the learning methods: In my lesson, I’ll encourage the Ss to learn cognitively, cooperatively and autonomously. I will train the students’ reading and writing ability, develop their watching and thinking ability. I will let students read the passage with the questions in mind, and obtain knowledge, skill, and emotion experience.
