whether or not 意为“是否”。whether or not you can do this well是一个从句,作整个句子的主语。这种从句叫做“主语从句”。whether引导主语从句,不能与if 替换。
whether or not是从句的一个连词结构,意思和功能相当于whether, “是否”,常出现在宾语从句,主语从句中。也可把whether和or not分开,or not放到句尾。

Even if 意为“即使,尽管”,用于引导让步状语从句,有退一步设想的意味,等同于even though /although /though,可置于句首或主句后,不能与but连用。
unless“除非; 如果不”, 作连词, 用来引导状语从句, 常可以转化为“if. . . not. . . ”若主句为一般将来时, unless引导的条件状语从句要用一般现在时表示将来。
