单元主题分析
本单元 本单元主题:“Respect others and accept oneself"。该主题属于“人与自我”“人与社会”的范畴,涉及到的是“生活与学习”,本单元的主题围绕单元子主题“了解不同老师的性格”“ 根据性格特征,广泛结交朋友”“学会尊重他人,不能以貌取人”展开;引导学生学会欣赏他人、尊重他人,树立正确的审美观。念。

学情分析
本本单元是人教版英语(三年级起点)五年级上册第一单元,本单元的主题“What's he like”。本次教学面临的是刚刚升入五年级的学生, 在心理特征上,五年级的学生活泼好动、对新话题充满兴趣,喜欢表现自我勇于挑战;在知识上,五年级的学生已有了四年的英语学习基础,已经具备一定的英语学习能力,较好的听、说、读、写英语的习惯已基本养成。他们生性活泼好动,好奇心强,模仿力强,对新事物有着强烈的好奇心,探索知识的欲望很强烈。,能够准确地理解简单的课堂用语,自主学习能力也有了很大的提高。由于学生们在以前的内容中接触过形容词,已经初步掌握了其功能,在此基础上他们更容易进入本单元的学习。

本节课是词汇篇,通过Oliver 和Amy 的对话,主要学习描述人物性格特征的形容词hard-working, helpful, polite, clever, shy, 根据图片, 音频, 书写等让学生从听觉、视觉直观感知本节课的核心词汇和句型What’s ... like He/She is...通过自主发表看法和意见,让学生在交际中巩固所学内容,从中体验、实践、交流和探究语言,达成逐步熟悉词汇的意义和功能再通过和同学之间谈论同学的性格,学会尊师爱友。
