What: 1a-1 b present the key vocabulary and basic language structures of the unit.1c has students engage in simple conversations about the content of the topic picture by providing a short conversation model.2a-2c are a complete set of listening and speaking exercises, and the communication is expanded from “Where did you go ” to “What did you do ” The 2d demonstration conversation is still about vacations.
Why: 1a-1c activate students' background knowledge about vacations by matching activities and initial listening input.2a-2c allow students to perceive the structures of question and answer statements in the simple past tense and the use of indefinite pronouns. 2d concentrates on presenting the language used in listening and speaking parts in 2a-2c, and is designed to train students to synthesize the language they have learned to talk about vacations.
How: Conversations in listening and role-play in this lesson are mainly about the arrangement of holiday activities. In the conversations, the characters use the simple past tense to communicate with each other about their holiday activities.These conversations allow students to review and reinforce the simple past tense and the use of indefinite pronouns.
Teaching Objectives                         
1.To understand the expressions of different holiday activities according to the pictures.
2.To train students' ability to obtain information, and then carry out activities such as making conversations in different roles.
3.To express their own ideas on where to go on vacation.

1.To understand the expressions of different holiday activities according to the pictures. Step 1 Lead-in The teacher goes around the classroom and asks some questions. Let students answer questions one by one. Q: Where did you go on your summer vacation What did you do on your summer vacation Then ask some students to share their own experiences. Step 2 Practice Focus attention on the pictures. Ask:Where did she/he/they go on vacation Observe students' expressions and pay attention to the tense used in their sharing. Give brief evaluation of their experiences.  Lead students to observe the picture and give answers. Encourage students to make sentences according to the picture and use the simple past tense.
Purpose By observing the picture, we can cultivate students' ability to see, answer questions, and cultivate students' ability to speak to achieve the purpose of language output.
2.To train students' ability to obtain information, and then carry out activities such as making conversa-tions in different roles.  Step 3 Listening 1b-1c: 1.Point to the picture on the screen.Ask:Where did Tina go on vacation …What about the other students 2.Listen to the recording and write numbers of the names in the right boxes in the picture. 3.Play the recording a second time and then make conversations about the people in the picture. 2a-2b: Listen carefully and get the key point. Listen again and complete the chart. 2c-2d: Ask students to make conversations about the vacation activities. Observe students' reaction when listening to the recording to see whether they can find out the answers. Observe students' ability to express relevant language accurately and find out whether they master the key language expressions.
Purpose By listening to the recording, students perceive the holiday activities in the conversation so as to prepare for the following language output.
3.To express their own ideas on where to go on vacation. Step 4 Pair-work Ask two students to read the conversation to the class. Let students make their own conversations about their vacation activities. Point out the shining points in their conversations, such as the simple past tense.
Purpose By asking students to make conversations by themselves, the integration of “teaching, learning and evaluation” is realized. From the initial learning to the flexible use of the language, the purpose of classroom learning is achieved.
Homework: 1.Required: Students write down more activities about their vacations. 2.Optional: Students make a report about their vacations.

Study of the Text                         
What: This is a grammar lesson. This page summarizes, trains and consolidates the key language structures of the unit.The content is about the use of the simple past tense and indefinite pronouns and indefinite adverbs.
Why: Since students have learned the simple past tense before, the focus here is on drawing students' attention to the question structure of the simple past tense.
How: Students will be asked to choose the right words to fill in the blanks according to the grammar points. By practicing, students will get familiar with the rules.

2.To review the simple past tense of regular and irregular verbs.

2.To review the simple past tense of regular and irregular verbs. Step 4 Learning Summarize the grammar points by finding the same points of each sentence. Explain more about the grammar and invite students to make sentences using the grammar knowledge. Observe students' ability to summarize and lead them to find the rules.
Purpose 1.By summarizing grammar points and making sentences, students can improve their ability to find and solve the problems and have a good command of the knowledge. 2.By practicing, students can check themselves and learn to evaluate themselves.

(1)一般过去时态表示发生在 过去 的动作或存在的状态。

(2)在一般过去时态中,谓语动词要使用 过去式 。表示状态的陈述句变一般疑问句要将was或were提到句子前面;表示动作的陈述句变一般疑问句要将 did 提到句子前面,后面使用动词 原形 。

(3)不定代词或不定副词的修饰语要 后置 。

(4)不定式在句子中可以用作目的状语,两个不定式如果是并列关系,第二个不定式要省略to。

  不定代词和不定副词分四种类型:some型、every型、any型、no型。some型表示“某个……”,用于肯定句和表示请求、建议的一般疑问句;every型表示“每一……”;any型在肯定句中表示“任何……”,在否定句和疑问句中表示“一些……”;no 型表示否定含义,意为“没有……”。
语法巧记口诀:
       感叹句
感叹句,并不难,what和how应在前,
形容词/副词跟着how, what后面名词连;
名词若是可数单,前带冠词a或an,
主语、谓语放后面,省略它们也常见。   
     一般过去时态
肯定句的过去式,规则动词加-ed,
不规则的必须记。
否定形式疑问句,没有be加did。
如把did加在前,动词也要还原形。
