Study of the Text
What: This is a listening and speaking lesson.1a-1b are pre-listening practice of text and image matching.1c-1d are listening practice. The content of this part is still about vacations. But the information is richer, talking about opinions and feelings about things.
Why: In language, in addition to further comprehensive training and consolidation of the key language learned in Section A, learn to use relevant adjectives correctly and appropriately to depict vacation activities and express feelings.
How: Students will be asked to match new words with pictures to learn the meaning and use of given words. Listening and acting will help students to express themselves when it comes to vacations. In the dialog, two girls use the simple past tense in several places to convey information accurately.

Observe students' answers to figure out whether they listen carefully and find out the correct answers. What: 2a-2e are a complete reading.2b tells the sights and anecdotes of a student and her family during a vacation in Malaysia in the form of an English diary. The element includes an introduction to Malaysia's Weld Quay and Penang Hill.
Why: Students are guided to read quickly to grasp the passage as a whole and develop reading strategies.Encourage students to develop a good habit of keeping a diary or weekly journal.
How: Students will learn to use the simple past tense flexibly by studying a travel diary about a vacation.In terms of language skills, there is a shift from listening and speaking to integrated reading and writing training.

Study of the Text
What: 3a-3c use Beijing as a hypothetical tourist destination to guide students in their writing activities. 3a provides students with the context as well as language structures. 3b provides students with writing points and ideas through a number of columns of questions about vacations. 3c requires students to write a travel diary like Jane's.
Why: After students fill in the blanks, the phrases form a writing template that students can learn. Students write diary entries that mimic the reading discourse.The more familiar students are with what they are writing about, the more they will have to say, and the easier it will be for them to focus their thinking on using language to express their meaning during writing exercises.
How: Students will be asked to complete the diary entry and answer the questions related to their vacations. Then ask students to write a vacation diary like Jane's and share their vacation experiences with foreigners.Teachers can effectively train students to develop and utilize writing strategies by sticking to doing similar exercises over a long period of time.

Step 1 Free Talk Ask students to talk about “What do you know about Beijing ” and give some pictures of places of interest in Beijing for discussions. Step 2 Writing (3a) Imagine you went to one of these places of interest in 3a last summer vacation. Try to fill in the blanks of the diary entry with the help of the words in the box. Step 3 Practice 1.Ask some students to read the questions aloud to the class. Make sure they know the meanings of the questions. 2.Let students work in pairs to ask and answer the questions.(3b) Observe whether students are able to take the initiative to share personal knowledge and experiences about the topic and adjust the questioning style to follow up. Talk about what you did on your vacation. 2.Students work in groups of four. Ask and answer questions about their vacations in China. 3.Let some pairs of students act out their conversations in front of the class. Observe students using the language they have learned to communicate with each other about their vacations in small groups and evaluate teaching and learning achievements.
Purpose To arouse students' awareness of friendship and communication, and practice the learned expressions in daily life.
Homework: 1.Required: Write a diary about a trip to a place. 2.Optional: Write a letter to your friend and talk about your plans for your next vacation.
